#1
Here it is made in Australia, only a prototype for now but is approx.90% right,, just needs a few small adjustments. This one will go on my underpowed busa. ANd this one has a Titanium spring.

You can get "SPRING TITANIUM"?

Don't you mean it has a titanium coloured spring?

The benefit of titanium is that it is super strong for it's weight but I didn't know that it was flexible.

No Busgo not a ti coloured spring ,but a spring made of titanium. Keeps the rate longer and more accurate than the steel and it last longer and half the weight but cost a few$$$ more.

Stock shock is a lemon, fades real quick when given a track day workout ie stiff when cold and wallows when hot!

Every shock made is subject to temperature variations.

Yes Ray in a similar way to the self adjusting drum brakes on my on XW. Once hot you could forget about stopping it real quick also you never knew which side it was going to pull to when the self adjustng ratched clicked over. Thats why Henry put better brakes on the faster examples and why we choose aftermarket shocks that work more consistently and dont give up when the going gets hard.

I seem to recall that a $2000 Ohlins shock couldn't take the pounding that our guys gave it in the outback.
Stock shocks - no problem.

Need to ask Bruce what happened, being a new shock it would be a warranty issue.

My Ohlins was purchased second hand from a club member with unknown k's. I am removing it today and taking it in to be repaired so more info will be available soon. I purchased the shock in good faith and it was sold to me as being in good condition, I do not believe that I was ripped off at all in the sale the problems were not there when I fitted it it's just one of those things.

To say a quality aftermarket shock is not as good as the stocky is narrow minded and just plain silly.

The Ohlins made a huge difference to the way the bike rode and handled, a massive improvement over the stock rear end, until it failed that isPi_tongue after that it was a piece of scandinavian shit for the next 8 thousand k's.Pi_thumbsdown

This experience will not stop me buying another Ohlins or even one of Rays new shocks which I saw last night - it looks beautiful.Drool in the flesh.

The KYB shocks and forks on the GEN II busa are exceptional for the road use that they are designed for with a huge range of adjustment.
Certainly, the pressure of trackwork may require something better like an Ohlins that is designed for an environment where settings are adjusted every time you hit the circuit to take into consideration the temperature, load and surface.
That is the difference, an Ohlins is a circuit shockie not a sports touring shockie.

I don't think I'm just plain silly at all, just plain logical, maybe.
