Just wondering if maybe the reason that we don't get that many group rides is that some feel pressured to ride out of their comfort zone and therefore prefer to go out on their own?
Just a thought.
Come on, be honest...who prefers to go out for a ride by themselves out there...??
It would be interesting to hear... Cheers,

Don't mind either way Pete. Though my preference is to ride with a couple of others. Around the block and other rides it is best to group up, as radar is stuffed and can't differentiate whcih is speeding.
The down side in a group, is chips on paint work following supersonic people like Rev, Gdyup, Rocket and others. But the quality of ride with these guys overcomes the paint blemish. That can be fixed, re-paint or stay in front of them. (Yeah right !)

Riding alone is not a problem. Do alot of klms this way.
Riding with Rev is my preference. He lives around the corner, rides at the drop of a hat and is good company.
If I have to be quoted I prefer to ride my "around the block" trip with a select few.
Riding with a bigger group is a fricken nightmare.
Dickheads that tailgate really annoy me.
Waiting at the end of the road for extended periods really annoys me.
When I'm just about to take off riders who decide they forgot to fuel up really annoy me.
Ego's really annoy me.
So the bigger the group the more I "try" and just kick back.
I bought the Busa because of the top end capabilities. I just haven't ridden with too many riders who do the same. Bre mentioned my favourite ride group. (He's in too)
Only posted because I was asked. So go easy.

A group , 4-5 max close formation, people your familiar with and know what there going to do. usually the guys you can make vauge handsignals at while your riding and be understood. Also can get the flock of birds thing happening, everyone moves the same direction at the same time without exactly knowing why.
Gdy I would imagine most would fill up before a ride, of course there's the occasional one...it's not hard to remind em anyway on the post for the ride...
I reckon if you go in a group more than say 4 or 5 then it's more than likely that you will need to have stops to let some catch up.
Or why not just split into smaller groups when we have a big group anyway? Of course we need someone who knows where the next stop is and that won't be me..
Hang on...we also need a large group...what am I saying...what a waste of space...that will never happen... Cheers,

Doesnt really faze me either way. Both have good and bad points. The group thing is good as its safety in numbers re the and is always good to have a chat with others when you are stopped to compare notes.
However riding by yourself is good too as you can run your own pace and stop when you feel like it.
I dont have a problem with large groups as long as everyone sorts themselves out and runs at a pace that they feel comfortable with and not over commiting themselves putting others at risk. Its just all common sense really, something the government thinks nobody has. Although I do enjoy the odd ride on my own (when I'm not in a rush), I prefer to ride in a group. 4-5 riders is ideal for me but I'm not the sort of rider that uses the top end of the Busa often. Had my day in court and didn't fare too well. Don't fancy going without a licence again until I am too old to have one.
Not to say that I don't enjoy the POWER, but I feel that this bike commands my respect. It is definately a better bike than I am a rider. I'll get there in time. So I might be one of those people that you wait for at the end of the road..... but I will do my best to get there intact. Just ask

I like riding on my own. I ride with a select few, but I get sick of the bullshit of being a girl who rides a Hayabusa. I just found it easier years ago to go it solo. Besides, if I overnight ride with a group, I get pretty good looking at 3am when the beer is running low. I don't ride with all-boy groups any more for those reasons.
I like to get up and go.
Saying that, I'll ride with max anyday.
We have at least one other female Busa rider in Newcastle too! You are not alone Heidi.

I like to get out on my own or with 1 or 2 other trusted riders for the faster stuff and love a long haul on my own.
BUT, I am a ride leader for the local Ulysses, who are great people, and have to put up with a lot of group rides which require a lot of patience. At least at the front I get to set the pace and avoid the stone chips.
We have some terrific weekends away though.

Small groups please unless they are all Busa's
Normally out big groups turn into small groups by the end of the day one way or another Cheers Robert
