Canberrans Sips Again
Well, I ended up fixing the crazy tachometer problem. The culprit was the actual electrical connection. Not sure if it was loose or the connection was dirty, but i cleaned it up with electronic contact cleaner & plugged her back in and voila!...all seems fine again.

I might need your help when this airbox arrives. Should just fit straight in & volvi has thrown in a new OEM air filter too. I was also thinking of drilling the stock cans.

I'm going to eventually order a system from overseas cos its hugely cheaper, but right now, i was thinking of doing the mod.

Its cheap and nasty, but according to the walkthrough on the US busa site, you just remove the tack welded screws on the back of the stock can, drill 6-9 holes in the baffle plate & she's all good. Apparently it doesn't mess with performance at all either, which seems like the best cheap & simply way to get rid of the sewing machine.

I've got some cash for the jacket too :-)

posted it today Josh. and no that wasnt a brand new filter, but a very low mileage one that I had no use for.

Thanks Volvi, either way it would probably be in better nic than the filter in there at the moment.

Btw, I was just gonna do a quick rave about the pirelli's. I've heard some mixed opinions on some of their lower end sport tyres, but the Corsa 3's are magic. The Michelin Pilot Power had plenty of grip but as spamanglenn mentioned a little while ago, they have shit all feel.

Not sure how some of the other high performance tyres from other brands go, but the dual compound on the pirelli kicks ass. The amount of lean I'm getting on this things while still holding confidence is fantastic & the warm up time is brilliant.

I'll stop raving now, but for anyone who likes to know exactly where their tyre is on the road, these are the go! I want to give the Pilot Power 2CT's a go when they are highly available here.

See you on the weekend Max & Heidi if you can make it Coolsmiley

I'd love to do more drag practice sometime soon too. I've noticed I'm only really opening the throttle 3/4 when I snap it on because of my hand positioning, even though i'm revving it out through the gears, its not quite as cracked open as it could be, so i'll do a little work on cracking her open. Heidi showed me the hand slightly underneath technique, but i'll have to get used to the hand control at this angle.
