RED ALERT ALL  OL COOTS/CODGERS ETC..

No.............. not you :waldorf::ghastly:

You're all gone it's over thrillseekers.....................the G men cometh Scary

According to an article in this week's bike media , crusading pollies in Qld & Vic have been scoping out the motorcycling landscape & have put the cross hairs squarely on certain rider age groups......

These riders are classified as being older returnees........ blokes who have let their bike licences lapse for years & then renew. Basically, they want to limit the type of bikes they can ride. They are also going after older beginners....with capacity/power limits being amongst the proposals.

So if you "qualify".............look out, you might have to sell that beast lurking in the shed, or will they allow "grandfathering on ownership" & no retrospectivity ?   They are also gunning for the thongs, shorts & singlet brigade as well which no doubt many would say is fair enough.
Interesting times we live in

But why is it soConfused Well...it might be about creating our own heat in one way or another.

We even have magazines pontificating about & describing the best way to do rolling wheelies, mono's etc etc...............yeah..all good fun BUT there's a time & place for everything. The same mag then prints a disclaimer to the effect "don't try this shit on public streets" yeah great  BUT that's like posting the instructions for bomb making & then asking the bomb maker to please not make the bomb :2funny:

I've got my theories but wouldn't claim them as facts, stuff like  blokes pulling circus acts like wheelies, mono's burnouts etc, old coots bumping into stuff coz they don't see good anymore etc etc..

Ah well I'm safe for the moment, no gaps in my riding history, until the next crusade that is.....& the one after that...

How are you other coots looking Very Happy
Never ride the A model of anything.

I read about this in a mag this morning. They want/will introduce a levy (go figure). You have got to fight for the right too choose to wear thongs, ride a big bike or whatever. Even if it makes no sense. Becuase those buggers get mission creep. In five years, we will all have to wear safety vests or only certain colours like many workplaces. You won't win but the bearus suck the life out of everything they touch.

To whom it may concern,

I am an untrustworthy citizen of Australia. In fact, I can't even be trusted to use the word citizen. Maybe the word terrorist is more apt. Even though after turning five I had to pay full fare for all public transport, movies and any other amuzing public convenience, I am still untrusted to turn right when there is no traffic coming, or regulate my own speed according to conditions. Even though since turning 18 some 18 years ago I've been allowed to have a say in who is going to Govern and represent 20 million other Australians in the world, I am unable to stop for pedestrians unless told to and can only accelerate out of towns in the prescribed 80 kph then 100 kph as sign posted (for some reason you cannot accelerate from 60 to 100 unless there is an 80 kph sign in the middle of the other two speed zones!).

Therefore I cannot but imagine the enormous calamity that would befall the free, Western society that I live in if I should decide to ride a motorbike the whole kilometre to the corner store to get some milk and a paper whilst wearing shorts and a singlet. Though many may try this on a push bike of sorts, the motorcycle is just toooooooooo dangerous!

I have a dream. A dream that one day there will be no motorbikes, no scooters, no V8s or turbo powered 4s, no parachuting, climbing mountains/cliffs, skiing, skating, water skiing, sailing, scuba diving, hang gliding, or anyother acitivity that might make my meat bag of existence exceed a posted speed limit.

What this world needs is more policemen and more regulations. One only has to look at Bloshy Vic, the nobbiest state in the world. Not that many years ago Vic was heaven on earth. But the state now would make Hitler and Lenin blush. That's what we need nowadays. The standard of driving under the Bolshy is so inept it makes dodgem cars at the carnival look like an orderly Regal procession along the Trafalgar. But the point is, it doesn't matter, coz everyone is under the speed limit. And that's what counts! Everyone knows you can't die if you travel under the speed limit!

Thank you.

PS Can I have a green card? Apparently at least in America they believe in LIBERTY and justice for all.:bird::ausflag:

I think they should go on Height and Weight of the individual for bike capacity.
When I brought my first bike, being a Honda Spada 2fiddy. The man who I brought it from was in his late 50's and he was a very heavy set man about 6ft,3, he was upgrading to BMW. It just seems ridiculous to me that he had to ride a 2fiddy. he must of felt like a dinasour riding a peanut...

As for safety vests, I'm not wearing a Hector saftey vest. :bird:
Although I do see alot of riders wearing safety vests around town.
But F##k drivers can't see indicatores, How the F##k are they going to see a Hector vest. Confused

Thongs T, Shirts and Shorts Idiot2 Lock em up Police
