I was watching the show "5th gear" last night where they were testing the slick Konnigsberg twin turbo V8 sportscar allegedly capable of a high 300 kph ...

Anyway during the test of this mega buck flyer the battery went flat & the clutch failed..

But according to the presenter it meant nothing to the cashed up owners of the beasts because " they just want to own the fastest car in the world  & mostly they don't even want to drive them, just have them & tell everyone about it "

nope its a bugatti, but the most recent vid i've seen of them doing a top end run was done at the VW private testing track where they have a 5.5 mile long straight.

are there actually any car companys that arent owned by one of the major manufacturers? I wouldn't go labeling the bugatti a VW just because of the parent company. it still operates independantly but has access to much better facilities etc.

maggot daewoos and holden are the same about the same quality anyway. very intechangeable stuff between VW and audi thats for sure as weve had a few vw and one audi and alot of the parts are the same with even the same (or different) brand on them.

yeah kinda my point. it all gets a bit incestuous nowadays with cars, but I doubt theres much chance of getting our hands on a veyron to see if its got any vw bits in it. still it would be nice to take one for a run (just not for the $2,500,000 aud price)

The Callaway "Sledgehammer" (Corvette, 408 kph) was the fastest road production car for a long time............maybe it still is
