My Easter Project
#1
Well I decided to park the bike over Easter cause I dont like double fines and double demerit points I got bored so I decided why not throw a TURBO on the beast . I had it all stripped down and turbo bolted on in 5 hours and then th enext 2 days was spent driving around sourcing some odds and ends and doing the plumbing  It looks hard as hell but with the help of a fair few emails to Greg (Maj) and Phone calls to both Shane (Shredder) and Maj again I think I have it sorted Thanks a heap guys I know without your combined efforts this would not have happened

It isnt running yet I am still waiting on a few bits to arrive from the States but here is hoping that in 2 weeks from now she is breathing life again all that is left to add to the bike is a couple of gauges some heavy duty clutch springs a modded GPS Sensor a Boost controller and a braced Sprocket cover put the screen back on and the side panels and all should be good

Here are some pics of the progress so far it sort of looks like a bike again a couple of teasers anyway click on the link to see more

Mate it all depends on what you are setting up and how far you want to go and wether you buy new or second hand like i did I am hoping mine comes in under $3500 installed and hopefully 100HP gain would be nice

and as for you Glen you and your GOLD ROTORS can go away I dun want any bling on this bike and they sound very blingy I always said i was going in a different direction to last time

Make sure you whack a decent heat shield around that sucker Bill. Did you guys install a large fuel pump? $3500 is pretty decent even if some of that was 2nd hand. Boost controllers aren't cheap.

Actually my Boost Controller was $215 USD custom made to what I wanted and I thought that was damn good value As you would know mate buying parts from the States direct save you a lot of $$$$$ I am saving like $130 on a clutch kit just cause i bought over seas If you arent in a great rush you can do a lot of things on the cheap as in cost but not on quality My old Busa was basically built from parts sourced from America and didnt cost as much as people first thought I am keeping a tally on this project so i should have an exact figure in a few weeks

oh yeah, that was a really good price. for comparision, an NLR-AMS1000 will set you back a grand easy. I have never seen them for 200 bucks. congrats on that find. Soon, I hope to fix the buy US to save money. At the moment it is certainly the better option on many things. I have a plan and am about 85% there.

Good work Bill, nice to see another turbo unleashed on the unsuspecting public Scary

My guess for a boost controller is Smith. Great reviews and value for money.

Looking good Bill

Glen this turbo, headers etc was ceramic coated to stop radiant heat , works great, my fan is still undamaged after 4 yrs of turbo .
