170/60 Rear Tyre on a Hayabusa - Can it be done?

Hi guys just a quick question.

Is it possible to fit a 170/60 (17 inch) rear tyre on a Hayabusa?

May fit Paul but I wouldnt
with your size the bike will spin up the tyre very easy
& be unstable at high speed

I ran a 180 for a while it was exactly as Shredder mentioned.
If you are looking for better steering go for the 190/60 for a bit better tip in.

A 190/60 can't be a Pirelli because Ron from Balls never talks about them, which leads to my next question, who makes them ?

The Dunlop's Sport Max GP has a 190/60 worth about 30mmin the rear

More common is the 190/55 which most of the manufacturers are doing, raising the bike 15mm. Bridgestones in the 002, Pirelli's Dragon Super Corsa Pro, all with fairly pointy profiles.

Dont use a 170 on the busa rim,the rim is too wide for the tyre.
Just buy my 190 and be done with it.

Yeah,

Stick with what's reccomended. You may save some dollars on the tyre but you'll probably spend the money saved on repairs.

Crappy tyre choices? Dude this is like the first time I'm getting a new set of tyres and the first time for me asking about tyres. Unless you're implying that the Michelin Pilot Roads I currently have are crappy tyres?

Mate you will find the std tyre is a 190,not a 180.

Michelin pilot roads are crappy tyres.I rode a stock busa with one fitted on the back (near new).I had it stepping out in 3rd gear out of corners in the dry.Later on in the wet the owner then heeded my warnings.Old mans touring tyre.

Yep right you are 190 rear I pressed the wrong number on the keyboard lol.

Pressure is down to normal 42psi so it's all good mate :ausflag:
