Sounds like a few biulders i used to work for ,walked up at the Xmas brake with a extra large pay packet and said dont need u next year, see ya after being told there's plenty of work. And they always said it when there were witnesses close by(there witnesses) and the area was always free of pick handles.

i just went through that last June and around another 60 I reckon have got the flick from Leader.
Another co that does not give a shit.
I was one of the lucky ones that got paid out, most haven't been, just pressured out.
When they have a plan workers are not even thought of.
Even after 21 yrs I was just a number...lol

I have been retrenched twice in my career (so far), and both times I took a short break and moved onwards and upwards. Think of it as an opportunity to improve yourself that you weren't expecting. You will look back at this soon and it will be just another milestone. Australia has a shortage of people that want to work. Don't worry. Be happy.
