always take your key out when you leave your bike- especially if you are going shopping- or you might not find it there when you get back.

well you could be missing both!
when i first got the busa i worked in a shopping center and one day i was just quickly popping into work. When i got out about 30mins later i realised i couldn't find my key, then it hit my. Shit i left it in the ignition... luckily for me a fellow rider saw it pulled it out and gave it to a passing security officer. He then waited till i came back to tell me and off i went to find the security guard. I was lucky but what if the fellow rider liked my bike more and swapped? or took both? So that is why i put it in as a riding tip. Always take your key with you. Cheers Rob

Yes Mr Tony has done that at the Strathpine mall. Some joker on a Gixer left his keys in the ignition. Tony hung around until some man who had an absolute panic stricken face come running up the stairs. He was really grateful. Mr Tony has left the keys in the ignition while the bike has been parked at work which is just across the road from me. Had 2 phone calls to retrieve the keys. Not going to tell about my leaving the keys not in the ignition but in the side where you unlock the seat. The guys from the motorpool grabbed them and gave me a call to come and get them. Easily done especially if you get distracted.

Might have to attach a ribbon to your keys and pin it to your jacket like a baby with its dummy :ghastly:

Most of us who use our steeds for more than just weekend jollies have probably done similar at some point or another, me included. For repeat offenders a new key-switch with seat presssure switch and audible alarm setup may be in order.

I once left the key in, and ignition on, and walked off - checking my pockets as I walked around the corner, in some sub-concious habitual way and not finding the key, sprinted back - just in time to see the Harley rider who had parked behind me turn the ignition off and keep walking, just to make sure I didn't get a flat battery.

How many of us have lost their key. Only to find it in the hump lock!
