Umm - mayhaps you are unaware mike, but I am 99% sure we

The route you've picked is a good one Bill, I've done it a couple of times also. The other option I've been told but I haven't tried myself is the road from Rathdowney to Kyogle over Mount Lion. I hear a few blokes on bikes say it's really good???

I must have been given some dodgy information then?? Can only go on what I have been told.
No matter, the alternative is mostly good riding.

I did the Lions road 2 weeks ago on my 1100 and although sealed all the way now, it is still a goat track.
Going straight for the border as Bill is suggesting from Rathdownie is a better option eventhough there are some rough bits, there are also some nice bits

I would have to agree with Snakeman, the lions road is better than it was before being sealed, but is far from a good road. Last time I did the ride, I was heading from Kyogle to Murwillumbah (yes I know the Lions Road ends before Kyogle), and I was going into a right hander when the road just drops away to the left. It's like they widened the road, and just layed bitumen off the shoulder without doing any leveling. Damn near went down, very scary.

M8ee, No double demerit points in Queensland, with an exception. If you get done more than once for a seatbelt offence, any time of the year, there is double points for each offence after the first, within a single 12 month period. I hope that makes sense.
Cheers,
Terry
