National Get-together
#1
While phoning people re-Sydney dyno, many people expressed a desire to have a national get-together soon. The most common sugestion was for the Easter weekend (April 13-16, I believe).

So, is that weekend acceptable for people? What about a destination? Would anyone from Perth attempt to make it? (Asking, as this may influence choice of destination).

Great idea Richard, I hope you can pull it off as I unsuccesfully tried last year.

How about the snowies midway between Melbourne and Sydney also close to Canberra. Jindabyne comes to mind good facilities and some great roads to Kosiosco. Just an idea, am happy to go along with what ever is decided.

May aim a little further north, as a few Qlders have also expressed interest (will confirm, though). Maybe somewhere in western NSW, for Adelaiders, too... Again, will try and get some committments from this group before we finalise location.

How about having it at the supers@phillip island....
Puts a lot of non-victorians out but some may have
been going to the races anyway.
Guaranteed an awesome turn out

Well seeing the supers are on the 20/22 of april thats a week after the date at the moment. And if you have the meet on the easter weekend most people have the 4 days off.Saves using up any leave you have and anyone coming donw for the supers might like to ride back with the group who go up.

Richard,
Sounds like an excellent idea. The suggestion for around Jindabyne would work, but if you wanted to travel further north and include the Q'landers, then maybe somewhere like Nelsons Bay or Coffs Harbour?

Cheers,

Hey, does that "influence" include getting it over here?
( Perth that is!!! ). I can't promise anything but will still try, have friends and 'relies over there, its just getting the time off

I think Coffs is a little too concessional to the Qlders...

Thinking something in-land from Sydney - equidistant from Brisbane/Melbourne, and still a bit of a ride for Sydney/ACT and also, a chance for Adeleaiders...

Cootamundra? Griffith? Wagga Wagga? Cowra? Parkes? Orange? Broken Hill? Can anyone shed any light on the appropriateness of destinations such as these?

Got an email suggesting Dubbo - Looks kinda central...

Maybe central, but question may be who would want to go all the way to Dubbo, not very scenic. I believe the place has to be an attraction too in order for those to make the journey. I still think Jindabyne may be ideal in terms of attraction and surrounding roads. Or how about somewhere around the Blue Mountains? Though not too far for the Sydney siders.

Those interested in the meet should post with alternatives or where they may think is best.

Blue Mountains is very beautiful and there are lots of interesting ride points like the Jenolean Caves, Three Sisters etc - Also lots of reasonable accomodation.

Bear in mind it will be chilly at Easter. It's only a couple of hours for Sydney Siders but I think the out-of-staters would enjoy it all.

Seeing the Melbourne guys are the most active it really should be someone good for you ...

Waiting on the Queensland reponse to my emails (had some, but waiting on a couple more in particular). We will then decide on Blue Mountains or Jindabyne...
