Hi All,
Just recovering from my 2000 k's weekend trip. Went up to Sydney with one other to visit Col. Left early Friday morning and got there at 4;30pm. I had much reservations whether I would be able to do that trip on the one day namely just over 900 ks. But I did and was suprised that I could on the bus, so it does qualify as a tourer too.
Spent Saturday at his well equiped work shop and was very kindly hosted by Col and his wife Julia. He checked out the bike made some adjustments to the mapping as it was running too rich on high, hence the poor fuel economy and of course found plenty extra horses lying around that was harnessed to the bus. A big thanks to you Col, it was a pleasure finally meeting you. Please post to all the details of your future workshop meet that you plan in February. (if you wish too)
Left to Canberra on Saturday late afternoon and met up with Heidi later in the evening. It was great seeing you again and to see how much you enjoy your busa, especially after having ridden on that day with 2 other Busas. Am glad your finding some busa riders there.
Left Sunday morning via the back way through Cooma and Orbost, back to Melbourne. Certainly more entertaining than the Hume on the way to Sydney, though felt longer than it should be. Back home totally Fu...d and exhausted around 6 pm. Had to sleep heaps to recover, my old bones dont take too well on the saddle anymore on long trips.
Some stats;
Melbourne - Sydney about 920 k's. Fuel Avge. 15.5 k/l.
Sydney - Canberra - Melbourne 1030 k's Fuel Avge. 20.5 k/l
