Pillion comfort on long trips on busa

Im thinking of trading my TLs in on a new busa as the other half finds it uncomfortable sitting so high up and crouched forward on this bike. So here is the problem:the test ride at the bike shop is not long enough to get a good idea of how comfortable it will be on the busa for the pillion?Any pillion feedback would be most appreciated. I know the problem you are having thats the one of the reasons I sold my R1 and my partner cant thank me enough as she finds the busa very comfortable on long trips compared to the R1 and a couple of other people Iknow with busa say the same thing in regards to comfort.

I took my girlfriend around tassie (about 1,500ks) in February for 10 ten days on the back of the busa. She loved every minute of it and was very comfortable but it cost me a new tyre.

The Ventura rack with a 36 litre bag (way overloaded) also enjoyed the trip and it acted as a backrest for her, even though the instructions warn against this.

Compared to my previous bike a VFR800, which is quite comfortable for a pillion, she voted the busa miles ahead in the comfort department.

Now that leads me to contemplate the backrest issue further:

I am considering a BMW style pillion back support to be somehow engineered into the existing grabrail of the busa for easy removal, as I don't always ride with a pillion.

If anyone can contribute information or comment on this please do so under the new Topic "PILLION BACKREST" which I have started.

I have trouble getting my wife off the back of my Busa,
my poor old hump hardly gets used.
There is no problem in comfort on long runs at all,
the rear seat is well padded and the pillion does not sit quite as high as some late model Sport/Sport Tourer Bikes.
I think generally, the pillion gets off a busa after along run, a little fresher than the rider does.

After having had bikes for 34 years, my partner has finally found a bike that she is rapt in from a comfort perspective.

The seat height in relation to the rider means she can sit in behind me as we are nearly the same height (5'9" vs 5'7").

She also likes the the seat itself and the positon of pegs etc..

We have covered upwards of 600kms per day without discomfort for either of us, and it blows away my previous VFR800..

In short if I sell the bike I lose my kahoonies...

My blow up doll enjoys being on the back as well most of the time you dont no she is there. I have sheep skins on mine makes it even softer.

Thanks for the feedback guys .Its been good to get some honest opinions as some salesmen will tell you what you want to hear just to make a sale. So it seems the only problem is finding a new 2001 model or wait for the 2002 model. Does anyone know of any changes to the 2002 model?

New paint job... Actually quite nice... Other than that, I believe 02 is essentially the same... And I believe the 02s are available.
