I've had my busa for 18 months now and still haven't had the opportunity to compelety wind it out in top gear. I was just wondering if anyone has actually reached the point where the bike just won't go any faster. If so what speed did you achieve?
The best i have done is between 305 and 310, it was to rough to pin point where the speedo needle was. Note: I don't have a yellow box fitted and my bike is completely standard. (I actually have my top speed on video camera)
I'm not a rev head or a big noter, I'm just curious to see if anyone has reached the point of maximum speed.
Look forward to any replys
Cheers.
I've had mine to 300 but not lately after mr plod
got me.He just had guesse at the speed i was doing
while looking in his mirror while parked on the side of the road. And thats with me coming from behind.
Well, I probably am a slowby, but hit 280 on the way up to Sydney this weekend. Yes the bike had plenty left....
I know Guy (who posts here occasionally) got his up to 298kph before he realised he was still in 5th ...
myself - i have never gone faster than 120kph because i have never found a speed sign that said i could go any faster ..... i must find out where those 320kph signs are!
Yeah tell us another lie Fox.. 120klms lol you wouldn't even get out of 2nd gear at that snail pace...
G'day Cahns and Cahnettes,
10,800 RPM top gear = 340 KPH on the speedo controlled conditions of course.
Give it the berries ya bunch 'O wimps she'll indicate 305KPH in 5th!!!! and you can see that every day.
It only takes seconds.
yeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!
Later Cahns.
I am WAAY out of my league here!
HEIDI xxx
I was surprised when on the Dyno at 10,000 revs only 250 was being indicated - then I found out the bike was only in 4th.
Demeester,
Yes but she'll indicate about 280 KPH in 4th I think.........O bugger it I forget.....give me a minute and I will go out and check.................back soon with indicated terminal speeds in the gears.
Just curious OLD CAHN
But are you a Ulysses Perth member ??
Regards
Brian
I top 300 about once a fortnight. First time I changed into 6th after remembering I must have had another gear as the tacho was pretty close to redline at 300. The rev limiter doesn't come in until about 11,300. Got to 315 indicated on the way to Sydney. Didn't see the tacho.
G'day
Ohzone, no .......sorry mate I may be an Old Cahn but I'm not quite THAT OLD !!!!!!!. Dont tell me some silly old bugger over 50 is riding a bus that quick!!. If so I hope he is fit and experienced enough to travel at those sorts of velocities. Age alone is not riding experience, as there are a lot of "born agains" out there that couldn't ride out of site on a dark night, let alone control a raging Busa.
On the other hand yes I am in Western Australia.
Oh by the way it's hard to be EXACT (because of the speed the needle rotates) about speeds in the gears, but according to my bike they are as follows.
1st 135KPH rev limiter
2nd 185KPH rev limiter
3rd 230KPH rev limiter
4th 275KPH rev limiter
5th 305KPH rev limiter
6th 340KPH can't hit rev limiter -- not enough straight need a bigger down hill straight or salt lake.
Hi All,
Must be something about the West because I've had mine up to 335km/h before I ran out of room! ( On video too, Hee-hee ). Roads over here are too wide and straight for fun but do allow for top end runs every blue moon!

EXCELLENT!!! WA Buses rule !!!
what speed are you getting in 5th @ redline?
I didn't know you were WA based as well. We will have to have our own little get together with Ohzone and any other interested parties in WA. What area do you live in?
Can't let the Eastern Staters have all the fun!!
Old cahn: How much do you want for your speedo ?
