Melbourne riders - possible dyno day
#16
You know what redline means? Redline is the maximum sustainable RPM acording to the manufacturer. Suzuki tels us we can have the bike sitting all day long at 11000 rpm with no damage to the engine. You know what mechanics do when a granpa pulls in with a vehicle thats running like a dog? They rev the shit out of it... Its good for it.

My 95model 1100 sat on or near redline more often than not and i traded it in, 100% original at 154,000 km.

Dont be chickens.... your allowed past 5000 rpm!

As i said at the beginning of this post,I dont wont to dyno my bike,if others do, good for you!As far as redline is concerned why?????You stop making max torque at about 7000 rpm and max hp at about 10000 rpm so why do you need to take it to 11000?As you should all know revs = wear,so the more you rev it the more wear you get, makes sense to me! and as far as your 95,1100, bee,im glad i didnt buy it!

This post is cookin'. Keep up the enthusiasm guys.
Going back a heap of posts. Who mentioned hitting the rev limiter on a dyno. (Wasn't me) I somtimes hit it out on the road because I'm old and frail and can't keep up the how fast things are happening. The last dyno run I had the barge was putting out 172RWHP at 9700 revs when it was shut down. Quite a bit short of redline.
As for Firestorm, you better keep to the VTR. A Busa in your hand would have me intimidated. I can only get near you in the straights. (Sometimes)......................
Mick you stick to the mono's. (Your the MAN!)
I'll stick to the shit stirring.
Cheers,Phil. Riding, stirring, fishing, nickel plating, dynoing, modifying, tweaking, re-dynoing, and not monoing.

hey phil

glad you are enjoying the show, that's what it's all about... and what's this crap about ‘popcornering’???? cos that's a bit ambiguos! do you mean old man cornering? or some kind of new hitech way of cornering ??? either way, i’m with you, particularly when it comes to fishing and nickel plating… and i love FFG’s monoing, just wish I could do that and maybe its time you got into it too cos you know what, hard monoing is good for a motorcycle, so c’mon freddy don’t be so selfish, can’t you host a saturday or sunday monoing workshop????? pleeeeeeese it’s worth quite a few lattes and maybe even lunch!!!!
cheers

Well actually Mark, yes I have noticed & I can confirm that yes, you do ride a VTR as I've often seen the rsend of it disappearing over the horizon

Mate, that things gonna fly when you finish "running it in " whaddya reckon Mr Sandman

All jokes aside, nice to ride with a bloke who can go a bit

Have to agree, dyno runs for me are out unless it needs a remap

"Old & frail & can't keep up with what's happening" & banging the limiter ? yeah right GDY Thought you had a hidden message for me for a stride there

So cheat ! See that very shiny long lever (nickel plated of course )with the knob on the end on the left handlebar ??

With me ? OK, LEAVE IT ALONE !! on upchanges & everything will be cool, trust me

Are you suggesting we can all latte at cafe racer and watch FFG go backwards and forwards along the boulevard??

stand ups of course!

Gee...ummm...yeah..thanks richard
I'd love to lose my licence in front of you guys
Though a latte at cafe racer does sound good.....
Perhaps a semi-organised coffee session next sat could be the go.

I'll tell you what.... I'll do some wanky stunts, mark (VTR) will show you guys how to take corners in exchange for some of you speed nuts showing us all just how inaccurate your speedos are against the burnley tunnel speedo calibration devices

Oh and Goslow...How the heck are you????
The thug and I do miss your sorry arsed company
Uncle ron thinks your cylinder head will be ready in 4 weeks so if you are going to ship those TTS cams you had better do it soon unless you are going to take the yoshi option. I would suggest ring ronnie soon as was talking about NOT polishing the rods
Its your money bigshow....

No hidden message back there for you Rev. But there is now. Wasn't the pic of the Panther 600 Sloper on the Waterbrake Dynomometer you sent me one of your first rides back in 1930s?
I'll give the shiney lever trick a go Rev, might help with my arthritis anyway!
Welcome back Bigshow. I'll take you up on the Pepsi challenge. (Before you do any more mods that is!) It was a bit cold the last few mornings. BBbbrrrrrrr....... (Heated grips)
I'll also take the Burnley tunnel challenge, can I borrow your rego plate for an afternood FFG???
Cheers, from the old frail one. Riding not talking.

Nah GDY, my old man maybe, but me
I did have a Panther 600 Sloper when I was 15 but thanks to the "Prince of Darkness" (Joseph Lucas ) the maker of the magneto & lighting generator fitted to the thing, it never ran

It never ran? A bit like your Busa at the moment.
My shares in the nickel plating have sky rocketed of late! What's goin' on ole man???
I'm thinkin' of shares in the battery business at the moment. I reckon about September (When the weather warms up) I'll make me a killin' when the Busa club "drives" into Action to get batteries to start their Busa's again. Interested Rev???
I'm led to beleive the Zirconia shares might be about to jump too.
Cheers, Phil. Riding not hibernating.

Count me in GDY I'm phoning my broker in the morning for 3000 BHP Billiton. BHP...... mining.....lead......in batteries........... due in September, en masse .......lack of use, brrrrrrr

Yeah the old Sloper had me beat, after that I bought some manuals & got some learnin

Nickel shares ? well if ya can't beat em join em. Is there any room left for me under your limelight GDY ? Will you still share your Busa groupies with me ? Might be time to dust off the pillion seat matey Remembering the weight limit of course (for me) !!

Just came back from Sydney. While in Penrith, I dropped in at S&R Pro's.

*** DROOL ***

If I had a spare $10k, I'd be getting a turbo!!

As for a dyno day, that'd be cool. Just so I can rub it in to my cousin with his VL Calais at only 114kW !!!

God, I love my Busa.

Keep up the shit stirring guys.... love it.

And to all you sydneysiders, that road from the south of Woolongong to the Hume up the mountain is wicked. Saw a few Busa's on the way too.
