I've been thinking a fair bit, that once I get back on the road I don't want to be able to go so fast so quick, I need to have time to realize what speed I'm doing etc etc. Also, cost - I need to save $$ on tyres. What do you guys think about swapping it over for a Harley? Since I wouldn't be leaning it over as much I could get a 'flatter' tyre for more grip and less wear. Do they have retreads for Harleys?
Also I want to sound cool and get one of those exhausts that blows the shit out of you when I ride past. I was thinking of getting one of those Sportsters, I'd be fairly limited one one of those, but I could put NOS on it too to make it go a bit faster.
Would I still be able to ride with you guys?
With NOS I could probably keep up around the corners.
Hehe, if I flew from one corner to the next, that is.
Just kidding guys. I'd never get a Harley. [If any of you have one, don't mind me, they just don't do anything for me] I just felt like talking some shit. [It's all sarcastic, I'm not really THAT stupid.]
Seriously though, who has what as a second/first bike? [ie, not the Busa]
-jon-
dont even joke about such things
That's about as funny as itchy hemmaroids Jon!
I do know a bloke who had a ZX7, great rider knee down stuff. Decided to slow down and bought a Harley Springer. Now he spends all of his time and money, lowering, chroming and trying to get the shitheap to start. (No thanks)
My old neighbour had a Shovel. He was very handy with restoring and fixing old bikes. He still couldn't get that poxy thing to start 2 days in a row.
I tried another bike (ZX9R) in between the 99 and the 02 Busa. Never again. Busa or nothing now. Some of us need a stint on another bike to realise what a great Sport Tourer the Busa really is.
Cheers, Phil.
Harley Harley shining bright
Shaky leaky heap of shite
Everything on it covered in chrome
Ride it out, push it home
Hit the brakes, try to steer
Leaves you shaking in morbid fear
Etc Etc Etc
Shockwave is required, but this did the rounds a while ago...
Harley Test Ride Edited by: demeester at: 5/8/03 2:47:17 pm
classic
who would spend 20 plus on a barge anyway?
...test ride...
Come on guys...cruisers are great
Tyres last for 20 million k's, brakes last forever and consider yourself lucky to even get to the speed limit let alone break it...
I had one for a while and saved a fortune riding to work etc...but then it was reliable because it was Japanese D">
Even God Himself has something to say on the subject:
Willy G, of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle corporation, died and went to heaven. At the gates, St. Peter told him, "Since you've been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want in Heaven."
Willy thought about it for a minute and then said, "I want to hang out with God." St. Peter took him to the Throne Room, and introduced him to God. He then asked God, "Hey, aren't you the inventor of woman?"
God said, "Ah, yes."
"Well," said Willy, "professional to professional, you have some
major design flaws in your invention.
1. There's too much inconsistency in the front-end protrusion.
2. It chatters constantly at high speeds.
3. Most of the rear ends are too soft and wobble too much.
4. The intake is placed way to close to the exhaust. And finally,
5. The maintenance costs are outrageous."
"Hmmmm, you may have some good points there," replied God, "hold on."
God went to his Celestial super computer, typed in a few words and waited for the results. The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it.
"Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed," God said to Willy, "but according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours."
To the last I will grapple with thee; from Hell's heart I stab at thee; for Hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee.
Selling your busa eh Slong??
If you want to buy a different bike, I'll grab those spare fairings off you, and I'll swap you a set of stock cans for those Remus ones

haha,
Sorry Peter, it's not going to happen. I've just fixed up the crack in the black fairings that I bought and am working on the design to be painted onto them.
I'd love to get my own 'custom' pipes made up in a grill style casing but I'm not going to have the $$$ with all my other projects going on atm.
chers,
-jon-
got this Toyota supra going around here thats painted in a heavy metallic bright green (green tree frog type of green).
If i got a set of fairings (front/back/tank) i'd be painting it in that green/silver designs with metallic green kanji.
Now just to get a set of scratched fairings....
Anyone????

Funny you talk about that Slong,
I was looking at the new Harley V-ROD VRSC 100th edition bike. Absoluetly AWESOME !!!! and I'm not a fan of harleys at all !! Very impressive, and doesn't look like a typical chrome shitbox as well. More dull alloy and castings!! I think there is pictures of it at www.harleydavidson.com . Should check it out everybody!
Only thinking about it, but it might slow me down for a while, and be a bit off a chick magnet for a bit. Only want it for 6 months. Price is around $32,000 tho!!!!
Cheers, Peter
