Hey Blue
Welcome to the club. You have my complete support, I've never met a copper I haven't liked. It makes me sad that coppers tend to lie about what they do for a living, but I tend to do the same now I think about it. If I tell people I am a teacher I have to listen to someone BLEAT on about their poxy child. I tell them I am a stripper instead.
HEIDI xxx
I think I will tell Jo to use that line, too...
Good to see you've got a sense of humour oh Blue one.
I'll try winding you up another time, see if I can get a bite.
I might use that line too Heidi.
Cheers Phil. Riding,not flashing Freddie.
No one will believe you, Phil... Unless you were in uniform, then you could tell them you strip out of that Does it work the same as a "tearaway" police uniform? Maybe centurion will need to answer that
I'm Mr Plow, that's my name. That name again is Mr Plow. Doh!
Ah well, at least being a copper is step up from what I did from 1990 -1994...a screw at Pentridge Prison... As for stripping out of my uniform..that's between me and my wife...hehehehehehe.. To the last I will grapple with thee; from Hell's heart I stab at thee; for Hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee.
You gotta be kidding oh Blue one. A step up! You've gotta stop sampling the confiscated goods your mates found down Lorne way!
Cheers Phil. Riding, not dreaming.
G'day bluecenturion, welcome to the club. While shooting across west I got a speeding fine in S.A. for something like 23km over their 110km/h limit I think. I've lost my fine and have to pay it in 5 days. Do they have demerit points, and do they go onto my VIC license, or I just pay the fine?? Who do I phone in SA to find out fine no. - have to pay with-in 28 days of 31/3/03.
These coppers had the latest black unmarked commodore with all the mods and cons, and only 1000k on car - NICE !!!! These plain clothes who got out with guns hangin' off them travel the country getting people speeding and stay in motels. They didn't even know where they pulled us over?!?! ...AND they don't even ask why you are speeding... just got out of car with-in 2 seconds (wasn't even off bike yet) and said "You - you're the one we want - you're getting the fine!! BAD LUCK" !!(UNREAL) When they found out it was my Birthday that day, they told the other guys since we can only book the lead rider, that split the fine 3 ways for my present.... Where's there birthday spirit??!!
Rocketrod 7777, yep, had the Bridgy 020 rear tyre - AWESOME...grippy, still round, and after 5300k, still has about 2-3000k left on it I reckon - Can't tell as yet.... bikes still in Perth - getting freighted back one day!! [actually - i think my speeding fine is in my luggage still on bike?!! - just remembered] Damn this good weather - stuck in car!!
Out of the 7 bikes all was good, but the 2 ninjas ZX-12, ZX-9 both had D-208's that were 600-1000k old before leaving - were down to white canvas strands as we entered the outskirts of Perth!! Luckily didnt need them in Perth as we had my brothers cars to run around in!! Phew!
Busa seat formed arse bandit.... Peter
p.s. have the word that those front rego stickers might be going ahead real soon - only size of rego label!!
AeroCat..I'm a Victorian copper, have no idea about SouthOz..try ringing phone directory assistance..ask for the Adelaide Police Station or headquarters..tell them you lost your fine, you think it's due in a few days..who do you call?? We do have a similar group here in Vic..called the Road Safety Task Force...and those blokes would book other coppers, and have in the past. Glad to hear you had a good time in WA though..and thanks for the welcome...Cheers.. To the last I will grapple with thee; from Hell's heart I stab at thee; for Hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee.
Quote:A traffic offence committede anywhere in Australia may cause demerit points to be recorded against your driver licence...
(From the Demerit Points Scheme brochure that VicRoads sent me to remind me of my precarious situation...)
All states have reciprocal arrangements for points to be accumulated.
imagine reading this in the paper..
"coppers catch copper speeding on a copper hayabusa"
just kidding sorry couldn't resist....
but quite seriously, a copper owning a haybusa is like a diabetic working in a chocolote factory, you poor fellow,,
so will you be leading our group on the next ride day???
all in fun, welcome to the board bluecenturion, look forward to meeting you on one of our rides,,
cheers
les
Thanks bloke...funny headline...'cept for mine is a brand newie 2003 model..black/silver. I'll be happy to follow on my first ride with you guys..still getting used to the power of the thing....PHAAAAAAAARK...oh and sorry I omitted the fact that demerit points are Australia wide...I can't speak for other states, but if you're caught at a speed that disqualifies your licence in Vic, and you have an interstate licence...you're only banned from driving/riding in Vic, plus the fine. One state cannot ban you from driving/riding in another. Same goes for drink driving BTW...although the gods only know why anyone would get pissed then jump on a Hayabusa... To the last I will grapple with thee; from Hell's heart I stab at thee; for Hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee.
Hey BC - glad you like the busa - i know why there are handlebars on the things - TO HANG ON TO . Interesting all the rules we ride by these days isin't it. Even up here in the country there are plenty of your fellow labourers out there enforcing the rules. One of the rides we go on here is out west towards the gulf (If anyone needs a geography lesson let me know) where its mostly a blue free zone and you can arc up the busa to its free zone for a few K's. However -- the risk is then that you find a a roo or two who want to check out the bike at close range. Had this experience with a roo who was taller than me an i can tell you he wasn't using colgates -- soooo close. Safety - what is safety as we all know on a bike no matter what happens and who is in the wrong - you lose. I enjoy riding so i ride and take the risks. How many times do you look down and see your over the speed limits - a lot. The law is a part of life and we must live with it. PS famous last words -- havn't got me yet!!.
