NSW Group Ride
#1
G'day,

Seems that the Vic's do it every other weekend and the Blues do it only annually. Time we all got together!

Was wondering if the NSW crew could arrange a time for either of:

a) ride out of Sydney to Mt White and then onto the Wollombi Pub and then home via the original route or the Putty.

b) ride up the F3 to Newcastle and then onto Gloucester, Thunderbolts to Walcha and then onto the Bendemeer pub for refreshment, meals and a bed. NExt day via the way we came or via the New England to Singleton and the Putty home!

As an alternative to the Bendy pub there is always the Commercial at Walcha which is newly renovated but still economical. Same route home on Sunday.

Was thinking that late March would be good. Warm enough to get the tyres working and cool enough to spend the weekend in leather!

Post to this site and I am happy to suggest a weekend and organise a group rate at either Bendy or Walcha. ONce group rates organised, each ride/pillion will be responsible for individual bookings at the respective pub.

Organisers will take no liability for riders/bikes/damage etc to and fro. Route and stops will be marked etc.

Cheers,

Poh (in Newcastle)

G'day Fox,

Gingers is a nice place to visit because it lies on the Oxley but it is a little rustic for my taste and the wine list sucks!

Still the majority will rule.

not much interest up until now.

Sounds good Poh, I'll be in Canberra (not on the bike 'tho) on the 22nd 23rd but if the itinerary is possible I'm in. I'll keep an eye on this thread. Denis.

Put me down for the a) ride.

Hopefully that will get the ride days "going again".

Plenty of interest now!

I'm happy with A OR B ...

In fact as a one day ride is probably easier to organise / attend I'll go for A ...

What is the consensus of the rest?

Looks like a local day ride is the go.

Lets pick a date and I am open to suggestions.

Sydney riders can arrange a meeting place and nominate a time to be at Mt White.

Newcastle riders can arrange a meeting place (say Freeman's Waterhole) at a time that will allow riders to meet the Sydney group at MT White.

Cheers,

David

Dave,

sounds like a plan to us. Our problem is that we'll be on the Sunshine Coast from the 23rd to the 27th March. Jule's is then doing her 'L' to real license test on the 29th. The baby busa (GSX250 Across) might have a few problems keeping up. But she's wanting to reward herself for getting her license (she's only ridden 6 times so far, but doing an awesome job, so with another 4 rides before d day that shouldn't be a problem), she's thinking of a Suzuki SV650 or maybe a VFR800, she'd love a R6 but hopefully been talked out of that one. Maybe I could really twist her arm and get her back onto the Busa.

Footnote: The ride to Gingers last year was great, we were only talking about it at the Picton Pub yesterday arvo. Accomodation wise though, the Seaview just down the road is a nice type resort with facilities, clean and generous rooms and better rates that Gingers. Food and grog is not a problem and they are really friendly type folks.

Cheers and regards, Dave and Jules.
