Does anyone ever hire out Avalon runway so that ordinary people like me can get a shot at winding out our busa's (with video footage and a radar to prove it!)

It's getting dangerous with the new laws to exceed 120km/h these days.:">

Although I havent been on a track yet (and thats a big yet) I still want to hit that 300 mark.

Also, how can I (cost, where, who?) remove the limiter from a 2001 Busa?

I'm sure there are a few who can help you remove the limitor, but I know Ron at Balls High Performance Tuning (Sunshine) has done a few.

AMCN hire airstrips every now and then.. are you a journalist?

At Moorabbin Airport, but you've got buckleys chance of getting on the runways. Federal police now patrol the taxiways for our company vehicles going faster than 20kmh. I got done on the Busa for so called weaving in and out of aeroplanes at 80kmh by airport management - wasn't quite like that - was warming tyres!!

You could try the old Laverton Airforce base as seen from the highway to Geelong. I did my bike license there with Stay Upright years ago and they said occasionly it is hired out. The last Mazda ad was filmed there with the 4 cars missing each other heading towards one another!

I just got back from being away on a week holiday on the Busa. Did 1200k around Echuca/Moama, Swan Hill and Wycheproof - You want straight roads, well there's some up there for 8k or more. Busa does almost the limit with bags on bag tho !! Handles well on my farm dirt roads as well - needed some knobbies tho - BUSA DIRT BIKE - now thats a thought!!!!

Longest runway at Moorabbin is 1335m, longest at Essendon is 1921m, and longest at Tulla is 3657m, and Avalon is 3048m.

I'll keep an eye out for a local road for U, cheers, Peter

The best I do at PI is 250kms, that is when I can get the courage to look down. If there is any side wind at PI (from the East) it makes it hard to hold a fast line onto the straight. At 250 (and a bit) the first turn starts coming up pretty fast. Next time!!

A note for Heidi if she is still connected: got talking to a girl in a pub recently and conversation moved to the motorcycle (she had noticed the jacket I guess) and she queeried what sort - I told her 'the red suzuki out front' - that should do it I thought ... no what model? so I mentioned Hyabusa .. she tells me her best friend rides one of those!!!! OK, so not too many women ride these, so I ask where the girlfriend comes from - you guessed it - Canberra! I wait a couple of seconds and ask if I can guess her name ... I pause while I think for a second and respond "Heidi?". She nearly jumped backwards with surprise - how would you guess that? Unbelievable !!!

Yep, your friend 'the brown FOX'. And now I know why you have been visiting Melb from time to time.

Small world Heidi,

Count me in,that would be fun,3k's+ should be enough to go fast and not run out of road to stop.
What about contacting Performance Streetbike or AMCN ,they might do the footwork and keep the costs down???

you do know the k infer 000's ?

I think 3,000 km/h would be enough for anyone maj. Ya won't need to contact Performance Streetbike, they'd be calling you
