Hey Who was it that came up with the Statler and Waldorf from the muppet show for us???
Buggered if I can remember now? Fugen funny. Even though we are nothing like those two old trouble making shit stirrers??? Now back to the shit heap with the "poxy" twin exhausts and the "mode" switch........................... Why the f*** would anyone in their right mind put twin exhausts on a sport bike with an inline 4 cylinder motor??? Anyone???????????????????????

Twin mufflers on a sports bike...........what a fuggen technological breakthrough Breathtaking cutting edge shit from Spewzuki..........right there.... Remember years ago they were telling us about the weight savings, power gains etc you get from the factory single system Well forget that shit it wasn't true Mode switch Mode 1 Supersoftcock Mode 2 Semisupersoftcock Mode 3 Superdupersoftcock But hey, if you get nailed on one of those things you now have another excuse............................I forgot me mode switch setting, I was only in supersoftcock matey...

To think all these years, they were tring to palm off the 4 into 1 was the go.
I see even mad max has the twin pipe set up on the superbike. Still i guess all the aftermarket zorst suppliers are rubbing their hands together twice the dollars to be made. If its good enough for the dukes then i suppose its good enuff for spewzuki. Ide hate to forget which side the mode switch was on. But i was just tring to flip the high beams on. The Phantom is back

actually some reading done on the aerodynamics of the Hayabusa show that the twin pipe setup helps the bike stay stable in the high speed range.... so wonder if that has anything to do with the twins on those? Either way I wouldn't say no to having a ride ;)
oh & I found the first season of the Muppets the other week - remasted on dvd of course... @ & was funny to watch it again ;) "Busa riders always count in three's.... 100, 200, 300" Edited by: RaZ80 at: 18/1/07 1:17

The claim for "Twin" cans is that it allows greater exhaust area to be used / obtained whilst keeping a lower C of G than if using single can.

Don't know what all you clowns are bitching about. The twin pipes look tuff. Suits the bike better to have two stubby cans rather than one. Each to thier own I guess.
But I do agree with the "supersoftcock" mode switch. I can understand BMW's idea of being able to change your suspension settings to suit the very inconsistant road surfaces and cruise mode etc.... but a mapping switch.... for a road bike As you say FF1, anyone can ride a fast bike, but not many can ride a bike fast.... Are Suzuki trying to compensate for the basic skill levels of the majority of thier customers ???? All you need is a little finesse with regard to throttle control... Might be worth a bit to the tuners tho, "would you like three custom dyno mapped settings with that sir??" Cheers, Holge

I don't know why anyone would have a problem with a map/mode switch? - I would jump at the chance if they put one on a bus, how cool would it be if it started pissing down, just flicking a switch to stop the old girl from stepping out all over the show, rather than having to moderate the throttle so much, especially on long hauls loaded up with gear and pillion, this could save a fair bit of fatigue i reckon.
PS - I too love the symmetry of twin pipes. Chopper says "Harden the f*** up Australia"

I just love this thread...........
Twin mufflers on a sports bike...........what a fuggen technological breakthrough I hope the Gixxer guys aren't lurking on the "bored" at the moment? (Yawn) As for the modes? Fugen Priceless... (Not the End I hope)

Holge: Having twin exhausts is like the old moth eaten tweed jacket you've got hanging in your wardrobe
Sooner or later they come back into fashion But what about the factory sales blurbs we've been subjected to over the years extoling the virtues of single exhausts We've gone from twin to single to underseat to single to twin again You've got to have an angle I guess

Gimmee two cans or even FOUR....
Now there is some history repeating itself. If the mode switch mapped for town/country/track.. IT WOULD BE WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD.. (It probably weights about 5g). You will not be surprised to learn that automatic gearboxes are the next move once the mode switch is accepted. Rgds BUSGO "TAKE MY ADVICE" I'm not using it anyway!

Auto gearboxes
Honda tried that decades ago but I reckon you're right Busgo Pretty soon you will be able to ride a bike on just a car licence because the factory's will engineer the skill out of it so that any bogan will qualify....and that'$ ju$t what they want

Heres your twin pipes in action.
At least it gives you something to scrape on each side. As for your mode switch,as i said another gimmick, something else to brake down. If your comming out of corners in the rain and your wheelspinning and out of control, you dont need a switch to stop this, you need to learn how to ride i think. As for the autos, well i think yammie had a semi auto on their XJR 1300,and the testers thought, what a piece of junk. There has been plenty of good idea but where are they now technology over the years.Classic example, anti dive forks, what ever happened to them??? I think this mode switch is another. Just because its on a spewzuki, you all bow to it. The Phantom is back
