Rev, I think my old Kawasaki Z1000 Mk 2 used to out wallow your H1.
If you really want to talk wallow try riding a Kwaka 500 Mach3 one day, heaps of grunt with the pissiest frame I have ever had the misfortune to be associated with.
Come to think of it......how did we survive that era?

hey Bob went for a ride today and threw the wife onboard aswell took the old lions rd agian turned right instead of left to Kyogle and went to Woodenbong for a burger and a coke then up through Rathdowney and Beauy and home all up 5 hrs and hehehehe she cant walk or sit maybe I should have taken her on a 2 hr squirt instead but this way I should be ok for about 6 mths before she wants on again Regards Bill
As long as my heart pumps and my Busa thumps I am a happy Man
Wouldn't doubt that Bob re your z1000, another flexi framed flyer From memory, the Kawasaki H1 was in fact the 500 Mach 3? The H2 was that evil 750
Mine was the first model with the white/blue tank & coil ignition & used to foul plugs something chronic My pockets were always full of dodgy plugs The EPA would put those smoke generators off the roads now
Yeah,i know what your on about.I found this pic of my old Z1R which i built from the ground up.It had an ex superbike donk in it(a 1280 kit i think),martian swingarm,GPZ 1100 rear wheel, for the big 140 tyre, braced frame, koni shocks.......but dam if i could find that bloody hinge in the frame.
Hey Rod,
have a look at the piddly bloody swing arm bloke, that's where you'll find that hinge, combo swingarm and lousy frame!
I thought everyone knew that
We survived but fucknose how!

Nice looking bike Rocket You seem to have a penchant for painted wheels
Have a look at the fork staunchions compared to today's stuff, they look like chrome broom handles I think my 3 cylinder blue smoke's were skinnier again
Saw a lot of very nice older bikes at Philip Island, CBX, Suzuki water bottle, KWAKA 750 TURBO !! GSX 1100RK !!
Did anybody read the article in this month's Two Wheels about the George Beale 297 cc 6 cylinder Honda RC174 replica ? Best read I've had for years
Rev, apologies mate, you're memory is obviously superior to mine. It was the 500 mach 2 of which I speak. Mine was green and white and I had forgotten the plug fouling issue.
I lived in Alice Springs at the time and would regularly take it for a high speed, or should I say high RPM run up to the north of Alice, up through the ranges. At the start of the ride it would run like a wooly goat but give it a hard time and the bloody thing would sing.
After a near get off I gusseted the frame and it repaid me with an almost high side which scared the beejeesus outa me and I sold it not long after.
From memory the new owner had it about a month and wrote it off.
The word "evil" describes it perfectly.
Hey Bill, shame on you bloke, giving the lovely Tracy a sore butt. I hope you did the right thing and gave her a nice massage when you got home.
That is a good ride. Rosie and I have done that one and had a ball. Mate your bike has been getting some use of late. Poor old thing, it must be due for a rest.

Thanks for the info bigshow, 1hotrf and Scott. The rear boot is no longer a Diablo, but now a 020. I did check my rear tyre pressure just before putting up the post and it was 35 psi after a 100 km ride. I pumped him to 40, along with the front, and it seemed to work better. The rear still wobbles a bit on the really rough corners, like the first left hander into the downhill twisties just after the Kinglake turnoff heading north from Whittlesea to Flowerdale.
I previously had the rear suspension set at the firm settings
as shown in the user manual. Maybe I should go a bit tighter?
Thanks again.
(ps Diablo's are crap) -385-
