Front Fairing
#1
Help!!!!!!!,

Does anyone know where to obtain a new front fairing for a 2003 Black Busa? It's the part that has the indicators in it just under the windscreen.

Managed to get two severe stone chips on mine yesterday while following a mate too close and went thru some crap on a country road!

Alternatively, has anyone had one spray painted with any success? Being black with blue fleck in it I figure it's probably really hard to colour match?

Don't know if I can live with it the way it is although a friend did tell me it will probably get more chips over time. I guess the trick is - stay up front!

Any advice re obtaining a replacement or success in re-spray would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,

John

Must be really bad chips to want to replace the whole nose.
A good body shop should be able to match anything for a price.
You know it's gonna happen again though don't you.
At least try some Turtlewax Colour Cure Polish. Buy it at BIGW.
It comes with a stick like lipstick which you use to fill the chip and then wax over. It is available in about 6 prime colours and I have discovered that it does a terrific job of blending to suit the base colour.
Good luck.

Bugso,

Thank you very much for advice. Never heard of the product you mentioned so guess where I'm going tomorrow.

They are not that bad really and you are rite. As soon as it's repaired I'll get another. It's my pride & joy and I'm just frustrated to see them.

Repainted chips more than the original paint .
The black is a common basic gloss black with a pearl in the clearcoat,
I touch up the chips in my 02 with an acrylic black pressure pack i brought at repco ,spray a bit into the lid and use a fine screwdriver to transfer to the chip .

Thanks for advice guys.

Anyone had any work done by the people at Color Tech?

Is it likely to be significantly better than touching up with Turtle Wax repair stick?

John

PS - Evil - I must try & catch up with you guys in near future.I went out with some mates to Wongan Hills on Sunday. Good run but a farmer must have towed a piece of machinery along the road and left a heap of gravel behind. Two of the little bastards hit my nose cone and one got my knee!
