Rod ,
after being disappointed on more than a few occassions with ELECTROMOLD in Victoria not only on price after a quote BUT absolutely poor delivery performance and to a certain extent the quality of the work, I have looked elsewhere for chrome plating and electrodeless Nickel plating.
Recently in an engineering journal I receive ,there was a small write up on a company in Adelaide called "A Class Metal Finishers"
A Class Metal Finishers

I gave them a call and explained what I required, didnt seem to be a problem for them. Only hitch is you need to post off all the parts to them in order to receive a quote. In the coming weeks I will send off some parts to test the water so to speak and see if they live up to expectations.

Hope this is of some help if you cant find what you are after locally.

Rod. If you're interested I have a grab rail already chromed. $100 change over or $140 outright.

Or send me an Email for another reasonable place to chrome plate in Vic. But be prepared to pay at least the above prices. (Or dream of chrome like the rest of the club...)

I also have a trick chrome plated stock stator cover.

Cheers, Phil. ridingnottalking@hotmail.com

Or don't?

How much was it to get the stator cover done. I think that it would look cool if I got both stator and clutch done...

Regards Richard.....

GDYUP.. do you want to sell yours?

Cost $100 to plate and the guy looks after me...

$150 and I'll post you mine. It looks a treat.
Never been fitted since chroming. I paid squillions and had a billet alloy chromed stator cover sent out from the US. $$$

Never really liked the clutch basket chromed. Don't foget you'd have to lever out the oil sight glass without breaking it.

Back to you Richard.

2K and I shop the world for bits Rod!

Electromold will chrome rims too. (Although they send them out. I didn't tell you)

I've had both my sets of rims chromed at Nunawading Specialised Electroplaters Ph; 9878 9047

Be prepared to get a second mortgage or your first born baby boy though...........

Rod, did Electromold clear coat the wheels as well???

Doesn't everyone have a spare set of wheels? (Chromed)

Cheers, Phil.

Chrome/nickel platers= licence to print money
& they are the biggest open ended quoters I've ever come across.

I was quoted one price & presented with another after the job was done which was original plus $300. After some meaningful dicussions the original quote was honoured.

There's no excuse for mis quoting because this is their bread & butter , they do it every day, & they know it inside out.

They work on the theory that a wood duck is hatched out every day
