I have 2 computers with DVD burners, yet still can't copy DVD's becasue of software problems...
I even recently bought "Cute DVD Burner" off a site in the US and installed it, but still doesn't work!
What are people using and where do they get it from?
Hi Pan,
To copy dvd's you actually must shrink them first . Get a free version of dvd shrink from the net. Just google it. It may take a bit to find a free version where you dont have to join the site.

Hi pan,
Found a free site for you follow this link

Hope it works

Another program is "dvd ghost", I was using dvd region free, however it went missing. DVD Ghost is relatively easy to find on Google, and comes free. If you have dramas finding a free download, when you type it into Google, make sure you type shareware as well. Also, you need to find out if you need + or - CD's. I used to have problems until I found out my burner uses - (minus) CD's.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Terry
Hey Pan, you TV star you!!! Should I ask for an autograph yet???
When I bought my first batch of CD's, I just grabbed a pack off the shelf. When I went to use them, they didn't work, so I called up a mate who is a computer boffin. It was then that I found out that there are two types of CD's, plus + and minus -. I had picked up a pack of minus. When I tried a + CD, it worked fine. I don't know what the difference is between them, or why one does or dosen't work.
Cheers,
Terry
Just to avoid the confusion - Pan is asking about DVDs here not CDs.
BUT the reason for the + or - or +- is the type of laser format that the device uses to perform the burn.
A CDR+ will not burn CDR- disks and so on.
Most of the more recent burners are universal and will burn both.
If you are new to burning, it is always best to use a slow speed burn until you prove that your hardware and software can cope with the faster speeds.
I suggest starting at about 16 speed and work up to faster if your devices are compatable.

Thanks for the explanation Busgo. When I typed CD, I was also refering to DVD. To the uninitiated like me, they all look the same.

I downloaded DVD Shrink and it seems to have worked.
Who would've guessed that all I needed was a shrink!
Thanks Bill. I'm just downloading Nero to be able to burn it (189MB... 4 hrs). If it doesn't work out I'll email ya...
@PAN.
Some say SHRINK, some say CLOWN, - err I mean CLONE.
