Suzuki warranty worth SHIT

What can I say ??

Read the thread about 'weird gearbox problem' in the technical section.

Phone call from Savage Suzuki this morning to inform me that Suzuki have decided that they are not responsible for the problem in the gearbox of my Busa which has a little over 3500km done from BRAND new, NEVER been abused by me and I am the ONLY person to ride APART from the mechanic at savage when it has been in for service. I ended up speaking to Suzuki over east and was more or less told tough shit, they will NOT cover the repairs ! This is fucken bullshit and i am going to take this a lot fucken further than they realise.

Having said this I have not spoken to Savage again today after I called and told them what had been said in the phone call and they were going to follow it up for me as i was not in any mood for much of anything...

'Oh you must realise that the Hayabusa has 160hp and is real heavy on gearbox's blah blah blah' ! That coming from Suzuki service manager AUSTRALIA... What the f*** that has to do with anything i don't know...

I'm so pissed and angry at the moment Edited by: Timj at: 19/6/06 8:06 pm

Go get 'em I say. I don't care how much HP the bike has, the box should be built to stand up to it. If it doesn't, that is a design flaw, and certainly not your fuggen fault.

Sick Pan onto them. Fucken

Suzuki seem to exist on bluff- Dont stuff around with them, go to and threaten them with consumer affairs. They put the product on the market and offer a guarantee. Dont back down ,and threaten them with your costs.

I've never bought anything new from Suzuki for that reason & never intend too either.

It's either a consumable or owner abuse so you're screwed either way

You even have to contribute to "allowable" claims Ping PAN etc

Try again!
Most warranty probs seen here are declined at first!
Some bikes have troubles with 2nd but most put up with heaps of abuse, my bike was dragraced as often as Leonards by a previous owner, more than 1000kms clocked up in 400 meter increments
When i built the bike for landspeed racing i stripped and rebuilt the gearbox, 2nd was chipped slightly in the dogs but showing no ill effects on the road or track .
Good luck

Hi Tim. Give me a call or SMS if you like (0414250975). I've had dealings with the National Service Manager. The crap he told me was unbelievable... he paid for repairs in the end though.

...and yes, he does read this, don't you MR. SUZUKI???

...but too much of a fearful person (read: "chicken shit") to reply on the board!

Just mention "Pan" to Brendon if you talk to him again... that'll make him cringe.

This is such crap!

Don't take any crap from em Tim i brought a new 04 bandit of them which when i had it serviced had a huge rub mark in the swing arm and muffler.they (suzuki) tried to tell me that i had
had a heavy pillion on the back and that had caused the muffler bracket to move.like shit only other person on the bike becides me was my 11 year old son.the muffle had been mounted on the wrong side of the bracket and rubbed on right hand turns.
Suzuki said they wouldn't pay but after 1 fairly polite phone call and a really filthy one 2 days later they replaced both they swing arm and the muffler.....
so dont take thier shit man demand whats yours Regards Rob

Sorry to hear all this Tim!

Alot of member have often wondered why me and shitcan the so much.

We know how good their warranty is. When I bought my second brand new Busa I started modding it straight away. What's the worst that can happen? Suzuki won't honour a claim? Well f*** you very much Suzuki. I wiped my arse with the warranty and took a risk. I hoped I got one with less cheese and more crust.

They will come good Tim. Only after they've made you feel like a victim. And made you pay for some labour. And f****d you around for 6 to 8 weeks.

I hope I've cheered you up?

I'm angry for you...........

Seriously hope it works out. Be careful what you type.
There are niggers in the wood pile.

Cheers, Anon. Phil.

Yer guys it's very poor form for such a big company. I have been in touch with some legal friends in work and am waiting to hear back from them with what route to take.

I doubt I personally will be talking to 'Brendan' again, if it comes to it will leave that for the legal eagle's but if they think I am going to sit calmly while they try to shaft me they have another thing coming. If I am talking to anyone it will be above his head, why talk to the tail when you can go stright to the dog Working in Law-enforcment does have some good points and legal advice is one of them

I have openly admitted to missing 5th & 6th gear change's on a few occasions, the only wheelie the Busa has seen was the one caused by the problem when I had my daughter on the back, f*** who in their right mind is going to abuse $20,000 worth of bike when they have only just run the bloody thing in! The ONLY time it has been ridden by someone else is when it was in SUZUKI for servicing etc.

Am going to see the guys at the shop tomorrow and if there is no good news then watch the shit start to fly

About the only good thing to come from this will be the guys in work that have seen the Busa and talked about buying will hear about the warranty being non-existant and probably end up going to Kawasaki and the ZX14's. Fark when i think how many KM's I put up on the ZZR11 without any problems doesn't exactly thrill me with my choice of purchase now s Edited by: Timj at: 19/6/06 10:58 pm

Write them a very polite detailed fax stating exactly what happened. Detail what they told you when you took the bike to the shop, state what the mechanic told you, state exactly what Suzuki said when you spoke to them and ask for them to honor the waranty. State only the facts without emotion or bullshit AND most importantly copy the fax to your solicitor.

They WILL do the right thing if approached this way.

Sing out if you need a hand. Bruce

No really means "ask me in a way I cannot refuse".
These guys have a job to do and people to account to. If you force them to do a cost analysis compared to legal costs then they can justify saying yes.

this is sad and fustrating news....

Service and lack of help like above will deter me buying another new Suzuki, as I am in the market for another new bike.

Looks like Honda or Ducati have my next $20k.
At least there after sales service/warrenties from them companies 'give a f***'.

Hope it all works out well for you Timj.

Grant
