Secundair airsystem, PAIR valve and catalytic convertors
#1
I have made the TRE and small airbox modifications.
Both are great, but now i read something about the secundair airsystem, the PAIR valve and the catalytic convertors.
In short:
- Is it worth to block the airflow to the secundair airsystem to the exhausts by closing the outlet at the right rear of the airbox? What's the difference between standard and blocked airflow?
- Is there a difference between removing the PAIR valve or blocking the airflow to the PAIR valve?
- I had a car with catalytic convertor and after a few years the catalytic convertor was defect. The garage removed the catalytic convertor and I had a lot more power.
Is it worth to remove the catalytic convertors and is there someone who did it and can tell me his experiences?

The small airbox modification ?? What is that, is it mentioned on this site somewhere, and does it affect the 2001 Busa??

For the last week I have been cruising around Vic. & S.A., done about 3500km in 5 days with other guys I met from Perth, 1 on a Busa. I think I need that TRE mod done now after giving the bike a good run in !!

Cheers, Peter

Hi Peter,

You can look at:
www.suzukihayabusa.org/cg...3&t=000166
They explain very clear what you have to do for a small airboxmod. I can recommend it!

But: who can help me with the other questions:
PAIR VALVE/ CATALYTIC CONVERTORS ??

If your in Australia you shouldn't have catalytic converters in the bike
Australian versions don't have them

Hi Illya,

I am interested if the Australian Hayabusa's do have more hp's because of missing the catalytic convertors.
Do you have Australian spec's you can send me, or can you tell me something more about that?
Thanks in advance!
