Would you recommend, then, a standard unleaded with Octane booster added? James and I have both been told that the octane boosters added by most companies to achieve premium unleaded are dodgey to say the least, and that if stuck without Optimax available, use standard unleaded (and ride easy) rather than some of the othe premium unleaded's.
Hi col.If the current mod you are talking about is cutting the pink wire, then the gps is in a neutral state and I thought would provide a richer mixture at higher revs.An example of this is if the GPS is in 6th gear mode and the bike is in neutral the RPM is slightly lower until the clutch is pushed in.just my opinion.GREG.
The mod we are refering to requires the removal of the resistors in the GPS for first through to fourth. So, yes, in the four lower gears the ECU is running on the neutral map. In fifth and sixth the GPS functions as normal, that is, fueling up at WOT over 8000rpm. With the TRE this fueling is occuring in all gears so ,for example, if WOT is used in first then the mixture will be way rich over 8000rpm. I can't see how this would be a good thing.
