Exhaust`s
#1
Here`s an idea has any 1 tried dumping the left exhaust at the collector box down below then fitting a blanking plug and running the bike with 1 single race exhaust on the right hand side. Was just wondering if it would do anything having twice the gas running through 1 catalytic converter and how much it would affect the performance .

Is there Catalytic Converters in the exhaust? I thought that the only emissions device was the PAIR valves which introduce air into the exhaust so that all gases are burned properly. If there is any converters in the exhaust it's the first I have heard of it.
There is a kit available for converting the standard exhaust into a 4 - 1. I don't know where, I just remember seeing/reading about it on a board somewhere !. (that's a lot of help is'nt it?-sorry)

My understanding was that while many countries enforced the catalytic converters, Australia was exempt.

There are no catalytic converters on Australian spec bikes.
Blocking off the left outlet and running a single muffler is quite popular here, particularly in NSW. There is no performance advantage other than the weight reduction and the rear subframe has less support.

Hey Kev, but I think your bike has catalytic converters, no?

So, JP, would the same logic hold true for Kev?

Definitely block the air supply to the PAIR. A piece of duct tape over the outlet at the right rear of airbox will do the trick. The hose can be slipped back over the tape so that it all looks legal.
