250 REAR TIRE CONVERSION ~ WHEW ~
#1
For those that love a PHAT ARSE, here is something to consider. Modified swingarm and you too can have the PHATEST ARSE on the block!
TRACEDYNAMICS

This bike could be a prime canidate for the four sprocket-two chain idea!

You could use an idler sprocket and two chains for the off-set, or drill a hole in the swingarm about halfway between where the arm goes straight back then mount one sprocket on the inside of the swingarm then make a short shaft and connect it to another sprocket mounted on the outside of the swingarm going to the back sprocket.

THE KIT COMES COMPLETE WITH AND LENGTH TRAC SWINGARM. 8.5 X 18 REAR WHEEL, 250 X 18 REAR TIRE AND OFFSET FRONT AND REAR SPROCKETS. All for only $2650 (polished) or $3250 (chrome) US PRICES.

No no, if you look at the Zero degree radius on the chicken strip area of the tire, you can lean that beeeeaaaaatch right on ova. The car tire is for dragging only. The conversion is straight up intimidating. As far as the price of a 250 dunno, but it's different.

The point i was making iceman was that i actually like to ride tight winding roads and the larger the section rear tyre, the harder it is to pull the thing around corners,i know a few of the members have actually gone back to a 180 rear tyre so the thing will actually steer a bit quicker. Each to his own i guess!

Now that I agree with as well. I wouldnt do the 250 but I went to a 190/55 and like it. I didnt do the 180 yet and Im do for a tire. Whats the gain/loss going to a 180?

I havent actually done it myself either, iceman, but i think Viking has, and he told me the bike is better to pull over, especially in flip flops, the down side would be i suppose you have a slightly smaller contact patch on the road, but it would only be slight!

Yeah the 180/55 did flip flop a bit better but i didn't think it was good enough of a diff to stay with it. I'm due for a new rear and im going back to a 190 cause it looks better. Is there much diff between the 190/50 and 190/55? Does it raise the back up much?

Viking

I did like Rev's and Phil's idea on removing a link and moving the back wheel up flush with the swing arm, maybe that mod and the 180 rear would make a good diff.
