Well, I tried to get a few guys at the drag day to come out and try the track. I had all sorts of responses, and some just didn't make sense. Like, I'd go too fast and fall off...
Trust me, and check the posts of others who do track days. You have a brand new smooth a grippy surface, you are going the same way as everyone else, you can only pass on straights and best of all, you can give it as much as you dare. Most of the guys there in the intermedaite class do around the mid 70s lap. At that speed, you'd think you could give Rossi a run for his money and you can scrape bits on the road (knee sliders). But the good guys can do 57s. So even though you think you're quick, forget it, the bike has heaps more to go. I think the problem is that people expect that since a Busa can do 320km/hr, then it should be absolutely the best everywhere. The pubic roads (not misspelt!) in Oz are going to throw all bikes arse up at some time, so will traffic islands, errant cars and dogs etc. There's no way the Busa or any other bike can survive thye crap on our roads at mach 1.1. Or indeed at even 100km/hr in some cases. Going for a blat in the bush is fun, but fraught with danger really. The track is the only place to let it rip with the least risk. Worth a try. I'll offer $25 to each Hayabusa that turns up in August!!! That's how much I'd like to see people not thrashing their bikes on the local roads!

That's for Wanaroo in August, I can't afford Australia wide!

Went and saw Ohzone last night, he is is good spirits and has a positive outlook. He has his opperation today to place a rod along his spine to support the fractured vertebrae, this will have to stay in for 16 weeks but will give him some limited movement and should be allowed to go home in about 10 days.
The doctors have said that they are very happy with the heeling progress of the rest of his injurys Evil or myself will keep you updated Regards, Andy

Hey guys thanks for all the best wishes I just fnished reading the last of them and I must admit they have lifted my spirits twice, first when Con printed them and bought them Into the ICU and just now reading them at home.
Well obviously I am at home and on the road to recovery I'm wearing a brace that enables me to sit up and to walk around and get a bit of exercise, I can tell you it takes all your energy to just walk around and It's going to be a fair while before I am strong again Thank god I can take the brace off when laying down as it is so tiring just wearing it I must be OK whinging already!!! I can't tell you anything of the accident as I cannot remember anything of it. All I can say is I am thankfull to have been riding with two other competent guys who got to me early,I probably would not be here to writing this otherwise Thanks Andy Thanks Con Oh just a quick word on safety gear I only ever ride with proper Helmet, leather pants,Leather jacket, leather Boots and Quality Gloves I sustained virtually no abraision injuries at all only the smallest of scratch on my back where my jacket road up, makes you wonder how I would have faired if I was wearing a spine protector!, every little safety item helps I will let you know how the insurance goes as I am with Shannons they have been very good so far with the only hold up at this time being the country Police who seem to be taking their time with the investigation. Thanks again for all best wishes Brian

Good on you Brian, just simply great to hear you have made it home and are recovering. Early indicators were pretty shitty so this post of your's puts those apprehensions to rest. Whinging is a sign you are getting better. Nothing wrong with that. Keep up the good work.

Good to hear your on the road to recovery Brian...
What colour are you going to get now, i hear the 06 blue/grey are a nice look.

It' really good to see you back on the board Brian.
Coincidentally, I just spent the whole day today doing my Red Cross 1st Aid Refresher course and I can recommend it to anyone who rides. You really do learn how to treat your mates correctly if they come down. One full day learning how to apply bandages and splints etc stays with you for quite a few years. Keep your chin up mate there will be some tough times ahead but a long and happy future could be just around the next bend. Rgds BUSGO "TAKE MY ADVICE" I'm not using it anyway!

Good to hear from you Brian.
Whinging proves 2 things. 1 - You are getting better 2 - Most importantly you're still around to whinge. Get well soon mate. Peter & Annette |
