Andy, why all the screaming and fuss ? I agree... its an opinion. Nothing wrong with that. I respect someone who feels passionately about something and expresses it as well as you did. Ok... someone disagreed with you. No problem. To each his own. Put the post back, theres no need to remove it. (Besides.... the current text will confuse everyone who didn't read the original).

On another note - Forget being upset about cartoons... did you know its not illegal in any western democracy to burn the national flag in public ? Its regarded as a freedom of expression. Even in America where they are so nationalistic and proud of their country. Theres a real demonstration of freedom and open-mindedness. Tolerance if you will. If we read a cartoon depicting our God or prophets, we're more likely to giggle than spit chips.

Speaking of which.... a priest and a taxi-driver arrive at the Pearly Gates and stand before St. Peter. St. Peter warmly greets the taxi-driver, gives him a silk robe and a gold Rolls Royce and ushers him into heaven. Then he turned to the priest and without a word hands him a cotton robe and tosses him the keys to a Hyundai Excel.

The priest kicks up a stink. But St. Peter hushes him by saying....

Your job was to preach ! When you preached, people dozed off ! His job was to drive. Believe me, when he drove, PEOPLE PRAYED !

Ok... now I'm going to restrict myself to talking about bikes...oh... and sex... and sport.... and women.... and riding....and pans post whoring.... not to mention simmo's post whoring...

Lets face it, if you can't laugh at yourself...
What about the Life of Brian and other classic comedies taking the piss out of christianity? I'm sure a few were offended, but didn't burn things down.
Similarly, I think there's a huge majority of muslims who just yawn at this stuff and go on about their lives. Unfortunately there's a really radical section of muslims around right now, just looking for an excuse to play up.
Not really unlike a few things that happen in every suburb from time to time. We had a spate of parties in Perth where gatecrashers arrived and rioted in the streets, knowing they would be able to get away with it most of the time.
Shame, but not unlike these guys on TV.
What about the complete wankers in Ireland? Having been there and looked, it's hard to believe what they do to each other. So called christain against christain.
My view? Ban all religions!!!

For my 2 bobs worth guys,
my whole family are born again charasmatic pentacostals, live on their knees praising their God/s. I have no problem with that at all. All men and women should hold THEIR faith close to their hearts. The fundamentalist muslims are trying to push their beliefs down all non-believers throats with death threats and suicide bombs. That rates them as fanatics. If you are secure in your faith, then keep your faith secure in your heart. If you try to push your faith down other peoples throats then you are a ratbag who cares nothing about other peoples beliefs or rights and as such you become hypocritical and just another ratbag. I just loath the way fanatics shout their beliefs at me and mine. They are hypocrits. If the cap fits then wear it and for f***'s sake stop shouting. That thing about bikes is good.
