Your closer than i thought , Mountains in the background of your pic looked similar to a lot of that area
We usually stay in Adelanto the night before , Often told its not the best place, but we have had no trouble

Still dependant on salt conditions and lakebed conditions , long way to El Mirage from SF for a days racing
But if we go racing is on Sept 13

You must be just in the green zone , always impressed how the dividing line between desert and civilisation is the color change as your coming down off the mountains

Yes racing if we get there , Bonneville Salt is getting better but not good enough for the motorcycle meet that was coming up, they cancelled it yesterday, more because the off track areas could not support the traffic
have to wait till Sept 1 for the next meeting(world of speed ) inspection
Hpoefull sign is a private time trial taking place now , one vehicle and minimal crew and support running for electric FIA records
