In addition to issues such as head shape, stature has to be considered. The height of a person will change their head position relative to the air flow and any turbulence generated by screen, mirrors, indicators etc. I find my Neotec quite quiet, but if I move my head up just in inch (2.45 cm) the top vent picks up disturbed airflow and the noise level increases significantly.

I've got a Shoei NXR,very good aerodynamically. I can turn around while riding and it doesn't change the drag at all, relatively quiet, good ventilation.
Very light too, physically smaller than earlier models.
Fits me perfectly,I always fit shoei's well
Only things I don't like all relate to the visor. If it's open and I'm moving ,it's whistling.
For some reason they changed the perfectly good mounting system used on the xr1100 and xr1000 to make it much more fiddly to remove and replace.
And there is a moulded shape at the edge of the visor that works like a prism, catching and reflecting the sunlight when the sun is high in the sky

I wear a shoei.
Its not the quietest helmet but the fit is good and it has
a quality feel I don't find with some of the Aldi type brands.
Quietest I have had was a Nolan but it felt like something
out of a Kinder Egg. Worst was a US Simpson Bandit that was
bloody awful but looked like Darth Vader and I was young and
dumb hooning about on a tricked up Katana and didnt care!

Just remember, no amount of PR, bling, rep or hype can overcome an ill fitting helmet

I have the GT air not bad very comfy nice and light a bit noisy but it's been a long time between drinks for me on a bike the only complaint I have is I think my old shoie had better ventilation when you opened the vent on top you could feel the air through your hair instantly I would say this one lets in a slight breeze and that's all I have to adjust the visor because it whistles like a bastard when it's locked down. But I do love the built in sunnies brilliant!!!!!

I have just brought the Shoei GT Air after 3wks with a HJC FG17 (fell off bike end of hjc) but before that a Shoei Xr1000. Must say i like the GT Air its pretty quiet as helmets go but the XR had better ventilation for sure, do like the fact that the GT Air does send air down the back of your neck which i like and the internal sunnies are great and easy to use, the visor removal is more fiddly than the XR but apart from that i love it.
SPEED ISN,T EVERYTHING BUT IT SURE IS FUN.
