well - finally got my rear fitted (Big Thank you to Ronnie Balls!!)
after a shitful Saturday morning & being stuck out east I decided to head up Mt Dandy & see how the rear gripped - only had it fitted Friday afternoon.
It was warming up pretty quick Saturday but still a little cool @ 10:30am on Mt Dandy - short story - I thought the BT014 gripped like shit to a blanket - the diablo - I actually gave it some coming out of my apex a little early then normal expecting it to spin.... nope
So far so good ;) I put it on at 45,800km so I'll be seeing how much it holds on for & fitting a front next wee "Busa riders always count in three's.... 100, 200, 300"

AHH be carefull of the front diablo coarsa i had them and they let go a few times into corners,so if u could use another ,say a super coarsa(street) that would be much better. i have the 002 street on mine and they are lasting pretty good, I have done 2 track days a couple of drag nights and some straight line riding and still good tread on them. In the river type water on the road the more tread the better,but in when its wet only and no rivers they stick. Cheers,

Supercorsas are very good front tyre.A little slow turning but very good grip.Supercorsa rears are very good too,but loose their top end grip on track days if pushing hard. Glenn the Spa Man<i></i>
yeah thats cool - thing is this:
I ride everywhere & nearly every day - however - I give the bike heaps in the dry & easy in the wet as you should.
So when its dry - I want the best in grip coz I twist it alot - probly too much - but then I also like I said ride everywhere - raining or not & need tyres that I can trust & that will hold in those conditions as well.
So its not a track bike - super corsa would be useless to me as soon as I had to ride melbourne roads in the rain I have a bt014 front atm - but dont trust it anymore as its let go twice on me.... still thinking - didn't get time to fit a new front this week & I still gots rubber on it for now ;)

I ride much the same style as you and I recommend the Metzeller M3s for your situation.
They are faultless as far as I can find.
(I might find otherwise one day)
I have just noticed the wear markers coming through after 10,000 on the rear with supurb grip and feel.

Sounds like a good rap from someone who does alot of road miles.Good cold grip,good feel and good wear= good street tyre.Already tested on the same model bike.Theres the forum at work doing good things. <i></i>

I got caught in a lot of rain today coming back from healesville - the diablo rear held like a dream in the wet - even held where the bt014 rear had let go before.
So all good for the rear
so now the question is - how do we all think a M3 front would go with a diablo rear? I keep being told you are meant to run matched pairs...

But I have been known to run a mis-matched pair. (Bridgy front, diablo rear) I wear the tyres out quick so I just slow it down a bit through the corners to compensate. TOO EASY!

On mixing front and rears.
I have had the following combos on the busa.
Rear 200 Bridgy 014 with front BT056 - Very good combo but the rear only lasted 4,500.
Rear 190 Bridgy 020 with front BT056 - Very good but slipped a bit when cold and wet. Long lasting, nearly 15000 out of the rear.
Rear 190 Bridgy 020 with front BT014 - Better than the previous setup but still a little slippery in bad conditions.
Rear 190 Metzeller M3 with front BT014 - A great combo while the BT014 ran down to the markers and then got a little hairy on the front. It developed a hard centre line and dropped in on corners.
Rear 190 Metzeller M3 with front M3 - The best combo so far.
After 10000 ks the rear needs to go but is still as good on the grip as when new and the front is about 1/2 worn.
On my previous bike, Triumph Sprint ST 955, I used to run a Michellin Pilot Road on the front with a BT020 and it was a great combo. Rgds BUSGO

but its a broad question & I know it...
This is where my mind is at right now:
I have bought the diablo rear - when I went to Ball's I was asking for the M3 - price & from what I had read - after talking to him for a while I decided on the diablo.
Thing is I never knew about the front tyre issues & if I had known I wouldn't have gotten the diablo straight out - would have stuck to the M3's.
But then again - I don't want to now rip off a 350 buck rear tyre to fit a matching pair of M3's feels like I have wasted the cash I spent on the corsa now "Busa riders always count in three's.... 100, 200, 300"

Matter of fact I have.
I remember the day well. I'll just sit on the details... The front tyre developed en EGG??? Limped into "Balls" and it was replaced for free. (It had 14 000 klms on it. SSSHHHhhhh )
Other than that, I'm happy with the diablos...........
