The latest info from Intermote Cologne exhibition this year is rather disappointing for Suzuki fans. All that is new is summarized below. Rather pathetic effort really as we all expected something more up to date considering their return to Moto GP and obviously a lot of new stuff that could be fed into a new street models. So yet again we get another colour variation sold as a "new limited edition" model

Suzuki was fairly quiet this year. The GSX-R1000 got an ABS upgrade, the V-Strom 650 got larger, spoked wheels and the Bandit got a bit of a facelift. The only big news from Team Suzy was two new streetbikes we all saw coming about a year ago:
GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F

One of the worst kept secrets of 2014, the naked Gixxer and its semi-faired stablemate finally had its covers pulled off at Intermot. The GSX-S bikes share a "street tuned" version of the legendary 2005-08 GSX-R motor that was so revolutionary nine years ago. The K5-K8 model was chosen due to its longer stroke and torquier character than more recent Gixxer motors.
Power and torque figures are yet to be announced, but the engine made a healthy 176 crank horsepower (131 kW) in its day, so even in street tune we can expect these new road bikes to boogie. Both bikes feature standard ABS and 3-mode traction control, as well as a pretty accessible 815 mm (32 in) seat height. Styling is a little anonymous, evoking Honda's CB1000R but without the funky single-sided swingarm.

Let's hope they are getting into it 2014... Polishing the lab ideas 2015... Really wowing the fans for 2016
Which would be close to an expected gen3 busa release based on the time frame between gen 1 & 2

Disappointing yes Shifu, but hardly surprising.
Suzuki haven't done anything to excite me for quite some time and I can see that trend continuing.
Not that it really matters to me, it took me that long to warm to the gen 2, if they bought out a gen 3 tomorrow, I might consider getting one in around 2020

Honestly I was expecting a bit more effort from them as I am on a lookout for another track bike. Looked at RSV4 and the Beemer but really wanted to stay loyal to Suzuki and was prepared to wait for the latest release. Sadly it looks like the technological gap between offerings from them and other manufacturers is leaving them for dead. Beemer added 6 horses, managed to change the engine, frame, brakes, suspension, traction control, quckhifter on top of host new electronic gizmos like a pit line limiter and a crise control and Suzki managed "bold new graphics" based on Moto GP bike. Wow! Top effort really

I say the busa should return with either a bigger motor or the same one tweaked, the litre bikes are now matching it, what's going on Suzuki?

Sadly the litre bike are now start crapping all over the Busa and the ZX14R on 1/4 mile and the top speed, being 60-70 kg lighter and with more power. They are the hyperbikes now not to mention the new H2 Kawasaki with 300 horses . OK that one is unique, but it is not only the power race though. A lot of bling we pay extra to put on is standard on many other models for years now. Take TC, QS, CC for example. Maybe Suzuki should stay out of MotoGP and instead spend money on building better street bikes. Just racing in MotoGP will not help selling obsolete models that are years behind in development. The gap between new street models and racers used to be so small before and they were priding themselves in that. Maybe what's needed is a management change.

Or maybe change brands yourself Shifu, brand loyalty will get you nowhere.
I reckon the BM would make a great track weapon
