Are we to politically correct or just over sensitive?

The irony of the T-shirts / bumper stickers / patches etc like...
# f*** off we're full.
# Australia love it or leave it.
... and many others is they, from personal experience over the last 10 years here,
are more often than not, displayed by folk who wouldn't actually be allowed to live here
if they had been born elsewhere, there precious country wouldn't have them.
The also couldn't leave even if they didn't love it here, no one other than a 3rd world
bum hole would let them in.

I followed a car with similar stickers a while back, watching the driver chuck out his
McDonalds paper bag, food carton and plastic cup over a few K's. Australian pride indeed.

I don't find the T-shirt offensive. Pretty dumb but insignificant.
I find the mentality of those that wear them a bigger problem.

An urban legend has developed in certain quarters that the term "racism" was coined by Leon Trotsky. This is based on the fact that, in 1930, Trotsky used the word "rasisti" in his text The History of the Russian Revolution,[11] and the term "racism" appears to have cropped up in English some time later in the same decade.[12] However, what this claim ignores is the existence of the roughly equivalent term "racialism", which was in use as early as 1907[13] and the word "racism" itself was used in English in 1902.[14] It should also go without saying that the abstract concepts of racial hatred and racial prejudice were recognized even further beforehand.[15]

I think you're right there Tony. The Lucky country born of hard work, innovation and loyalty to fellow Ockers is now more one of lazy, self interested whiners...

Ok, great mix of blokes. Now a question of this thread.
Does everyone give each other shit and take the piss in that normal blokey way, or is everyone too concerned about being PC to have a bit of fun.

I have a habit of being sarcastic and dry sometimes and it does backfire occasionally.
Yes you do need to get up with the times.
Things we said 20 yrs ago may not be acceptable today. It's got nothing to do with PC.
It's just that as humans hopefully we have grown up and progressed a little and attitudes have matured.
If we were having the same attitudes as say some of the things that were said and done in the 50's it would be a very sad place.

Yes sometimes things DO go too far but all in all it's good.

Sometime I wish we had the attitudes of the 50 when it come to politeness, respect, loyalty and hard work... But I agree that the racism, elitism, theolophobia and sexism weren't good

Sure am. I believe that sadly it has been.
Used to be that if others were giving you shit, it was a sign you had been accepted into the fold so to speak.
I think an important part of Aussie culture has been largely lost.

Don't get me wrong though, i'm talking about piss taking with light hearted humour, not malice.

I was in a local pub a while back and there was a black dude there having a drink with us
after a while i said to him if i were a C--t you could classed me as a white one ,now if u were a c--t u would be classed as a black one , i said is that being racist he said no. So we kept having a nag, now if one of those retard greens were around they would have wisked him off to a copper and have me charged etc. but only for there own glory and existence, and not be labelled a oxygen theif. You say times have changed ,well u are right there is less workers and more parasites.....
