I reckon the real hidden agenda is not speed cameras, but automatic numberplate recognition (ANR). For example, last Christmas holidays the local motorcycle riding fuckwit commissioner claimed that they had taken so many hundreds or thousands of banned drivers off the road.
How? By the retards in their $120k Commonwhores sat in laybys for (in one case I saw, for hours) capturing plates as they came through. What happened to the one brain dead arsewipe I came across? He had to start the motor, do a U turn and follow me up the road so that the robot could get my plate. That's why they want front plates (Remember you read it here).
On another subject - the Queensland bikie laws. What does an organisation have to do to get banned? Do you think that paedophilic middle aged men praying (sic) on children, the extortion of money with menaces and falsifying product disclosure statements should be enough? Well bugger me :) isn't that the Church of Rome?

Now I could be taking a stab in the dark here and god forbid I might be smarter than any politician but if your trying to catch vehicles with rear mounted license plates....wouldn't you place your cameras in positions to capture vehicles as they go past instead of oncoming? Maybe then we wouldnt have to wear a front plate or modify our beautiful machines to accommodate idiots. Just sayin.....

Well said...I for one would love to be able to personally hold some of the trash we have running the show responsible. Unfortunately perhaps we dont have the freedoms we think we do. As for the blatant misuse of public money this and any other story will be just the tip of the iceberg. Well overdue is the police forces catching real criminals, as you listed, but wheres the money in that?

Just about the only reason I like the French is their tendency to block roads and start large bonfires each time some pollie tries to impinge on their rights. Even in the UK they necklaced the fixed cameras. Here? SFA!
I once suggested on a local and heavily moderated site that a bottle of unleaded with some willy-pete could do a nice job on speed cameras. It was censored within 10 minutes of posting!

Yes....I agree....all 'watchers' and big brother types....I have no affiliates affiliated with the intention of societies' degradation. ...nor do I condone the french method of burning things in the street...unless its a bbq and all their frog mates are roasting frog legs over a fire pit...or its a dunlop sportsmax or 2 getting fried....just sayin
