Screw in my tire
#1
Was out at Parra 2 days ago and someone called out, "is that a screww sticking out of your rear tire?"

Took it to Action Suzuki and they plugged it from the inside ($55), but they said if I get another one to throw the thing away (020 200).

What do you guys think? Is it safe to take a tire like that to the drags? Is it safe to go bush and hit higher speeds?

The tire is virtually new so I really don't want to replace it.

I have been told 140kph max with a plug. Cheers,

Bummer.
I think I will still go to the drags though. I hit 200+ but not for long.

Besides, they have an ambulance there, unlike the back roads of NSW which is the only other place I'd be doing that...

If there is a list of things I would not do racing of any form with a plug in is one of them. You can imagine the fun and laughs you can have if that thing lets go at 200kph but hey it will be just for a few seconds ;)

Potentialy one of those "think about it" moments.

Had one plug put in my old 99 red/black.
Kept the speed under 300 (Just) , no problems.
Got another nail. Two plugs kept the speed under 250 (Just).
Fucks sake I got another nail. Three plugs (I kid you not)
Kept the speed under 200...............

But I was young and a thrill seeker back then.

Now I'm old frail and my nerves are shot!

Oh, P.S. I used to go through a rear tyre at least every 3 months back then. Clocked 38 000 klms in the first year of owning that bike. I just couldn't keep of it. but the had other ideas............... GGGRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........

But that's a story for under the Banyan tree at marysville.
