Well it's done and dusted for another year.
An awesome weekend of riding with 21 people on 18 bikes for the Saturday loop, sadly we lost 2 starters when Dale's 'busa mysteriously chewed its back tyre out, leaving him with just enough rubber to get back home, and Franko's B'king started making a strange noise in the fuel pump. So only 16 bikes did Saturday the loop. From Tallangatta we travelled the Kiewa Valley to Mt Beauty, over the Tawonga gap to Bright, up and over Hotham to Omeo for lunch, then the 107kms of newly completed Omeo (with not a straight bit init) to Mitta Mitta. Quick detour to the Dartmouth Dam wall for some drag racing across it - (670metres of straight road to a dead end)
A bit of loose gravel at the start made for some slipping and sliding takoffs, but the Jaffa won bragging rights with a 230indicated before I realised I needed room to stop at the other end. The BBQ went into the wee small hours of talking bullshit. Special mention to Corbin who came thru as the chef exstordinaire, and put in the hard yards of cleaning up with Cathy whilst I was manning the bar. You are a bloody champion!
The bullshit and drinking went on into the wee small hours.
The Sunday ride was a mixed affair with some doing Happy Valley/runing creek road then whitfield and onto Tolmie/Mansfield for lunch. Whilst some did Granya, the river road and Walwa for lunch. We met up at the end of the day and compared over dinner at new Tallangatta Indian restaurant - definitely gonna book that one again! Last Breaky and majority left on the Monday morning.
Cops were non-existent except for where a couple of crashes had occured, - not anyone in our group. - But my Jaffa is now sporting a rather major crack across the nose cone and and some ugly scatches down the rhs
-but that's another story, not me, I was on the copper.
It was pretty mixed bunch. My 2x busa's, Dale on busa an Franko on Bking. After they left it was a bit of a poor busa showing . . . 3 x Black birds, S1000rrHp4(which I got a ride on
), R1, VFr1200(automatic??? - pretty special) BMW1600(6cyl) hornet900, Victory, 3xHarleys(including Corbin's) and even a DR650 that Kimmy rode like a demon possessed.
Thanks to all that made the effort. It was a great weekend.
