Tell us a bit about your bike Mark.
Is it stock, Power Commander mapped, TRE, what year, etc
Have you checked the chain tightness?

Could be anything mate, process of elimination, you could pay someone to check it or take the time to do it when you can;
1. Bad fuel
2. Cush drive rubbers
3. Spark plugs, leads
4. Electrical issues
5. Fuel pump / filter blockage.

My guess is hot weather and overheating vapour locking at lights. Used to happen on my '99 in heavy Sydney traffic stopped at lights during summer. Sure sign the filters were getting close to needing changing or cleaning.

- but need to know what bike year. I know bugger all about '01+ gen1s and even less about Gen2s. Plenty of practice on external fuelpumps on '99s though - till I modified.

TRE fixed my surging problems in upper gears.

Struth Ward P, in WA the blue gang would be examining that avatar of yours VERY carefully for identifying road or park signs! I hope you scrubbed the metadata from it!
