Bleeding the clutch
#1
Hi Boys & Girls (and everything in between..... you know who you are!! lol)

Got a quick question...... is bleeding a clutch the same principle as bleeding brakes?? Just got a new (to me) bike, and changing fluids....... brake fluid is the same colour as Coca cola, so thought I'd change the clutch fluid as well!

Cheers Biker

The clutch fluid usually darkens much quicker than the brake fluid coz you generally use it way more than the brakes.......depending on who you are & how you ride.

yep pretty much,
open the bleeder and push in the lever
before the lever hits the bars, close off the bleed nipple,
do that til no more air escapes or the new fluid
comes thru, try and not let the m/c run dry otherwise
u might need to bleed that too.

Suck most of the old fluid out of the master cylinder reservoir with a syringe then top up with new fluid and bleed the normal way until the new fluid comes out the bleed nipple.
Castrol response or Performance 4 brake fluid was recommended to me by Goodridge here in Cooroy Aus. They even use it in their race bikes. No need to buy motor bike specific brands.
