Chinese shorty levers
#1
Don't boo me off stage yet fella's. I didn't have a spare $160 + for a set of aftermarket levers so after a couple of bourbons I got brave on the internet and ordered a set of $30 Chinese levers. The plan was if they were rubbish I'd just chuck them, lesson learnt. When they arrived I was very pleased, yep machined from billet aluminium, fine tolerances and nicely finished (even the cam mechanism was greased).

$30 Bargain, got them from here http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221231156675?...K:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Hi Rich!
Check that the lever still switches your clutch actuation switch on and off. Some Chinese levers lack the appropriate boss in the lever. Compare against your original lever. Otherwise you'll be stuck in your neutral map.

Greeny (RIP) told me @ Tathra about using the adjustment lever like a killswitch.......at closest adjustment the bike wouldn't fire.....click it out a bit and hey presto. Not a bad lil anti-theft device (only works if they try to ride away....won't help if they pick it up with a sling onto a truck.....seen that done with boat anchors....sorry, Harleys).

also make sure the brake one doesn't touch the fairing, it could touch on full lock causing a stationary drop - nearly happenned to me! could have been very embarrassing.

Got these once (not sure if the same brand but who knows who makes them really). After re-drilling the holes to be able to mount them at all, the brake switch did not operate because that little pip was missing it altogether. Thrown them in the bin and got my money back after sending them some photos. You buy a lot of aggrevation for only few dollars.

They can't be the same, these ones are spot on.

In the Eternal Pursuit of Bling (show off)
..... and we all do it.

2 Chinese Lever Issues:
1. Quality does pay but at what price? On the road the Chinese Levers may work, look very well and you have not mortgaged your house for the top brands.

2. On the track hitting T2 at the Island and have a brake lever snappo is not good.

Bottom line is if you don't invest in safety such as best tyres and brake components regardless or road or track invest in top Medical cover and Funeral benefits

Fine looking Bling is fine in non-critical areas only

Cheers

dad

PS: Most Oz Superbikes run OME levers and Pads. Most teams have many spares in the box.

Surprised?

I've had Chazzos (Chinese Pazzos) on the track bike and road bikes, at EC, Phillip Island, etc... for years. No problems, ever.

Chazzos are on the Panabusa and my FJR and they work fine - never had any problems.
Put real Pazzos on my road Busa and the detent doesn't work properly on the clutch - gotta squeeze it in very hard to release the interlock!
The quality of the real Pazzos definitely shows, but Im a bit disappointed they didn't get that right.
Can be modified by the look of it, but haven't had the time yet.
