Weight of riders
#1
hey guys I wanna ask a sensitive question here

What is the weight of the riders that are actually going to the drags and racing or even just the test & tunes and what PB's do you guys have with the weight you are.

Why I ask is that after Xmas I weighed myself and i hit a staggering 132.2 kgs my fattest ever I have now been on a diet for 5 weeks and have lost 16kgs last Shootout i was around 118kgs and ran a 10:66 @ around 135 mph i am aiming for the 90-95 kg mark by June and am hoping to get into the 9's finallyI should be at around 100kg mark by the next shootout mid April if all goes according to plan

Oh and if anyone wants a proven diet for themselves i am on the Tony Ferguson diet which you get from any Terry White Chemist it costs me around $45 /week Cheers

Im anywhere from 103-108 depending on what I have been up to the week prior to weigh in.

Bill, I did the Ferguson diet last year, I lasted about 7 weeks. While I did lose around 9kgs, I was starving all day. But if you can stick with it you will lose weight healthily and fairly quick.
Good luck with it mate.

I have a new bathroom scale at home, I think its got a stiff spring or may be fat lady sympathetic because it indicated my weight as 80kg, which made me feel good. At the pharmacist while waiting for some medicine, I checked my weight on their scale, 87kg. Reckon i'm probably 85 plus or minus 5 kg and plus or minus meals.

Im about 87kg and my best is 10.69 and the bike has a 4-1 exhaust which has shed a few kilos off

For accuracy you should check AUW on the scales at the strip ie rider + gear +bike(wet). Might try that next time.

Exactly chris hence my post. Some wear leathers, some don,t.Some have light exhausts, some don,t.Bruces times don,t count as the cans where off it.I think 10.01 at 142mph was with the pipes fitted?Correct me if IM wrong here but its apples with apples.A simple formula for skill comparison would be this.Every 10kg,s equals a tenth, every inch lower equals a tenth,Every 2 inches longer equals a tenth, and every 8hp equals a tenth. This would allow a rider of a stockie to beat a modded bike on handicap.I think bruce still comes out on top but not by as much. Then theres leonard?

spamanglenn,

for the life of me I can not see how your formula could work. Please explain?

Partially correct Glen, the low time was set with a set of stubby pipes fitted from the collector.

What or where is your formula based on?. The only formula that I know of that really works is:

Lots of practice = lots of tenths off. Bruce
