Thats the Australian way; charge more for less service. There a lot of businesses here that just deserve to go bust.

Thats a huge difference in pickup dates...I know you ended up back filling but...I need a definate pickup date and will ring Bike Logistics today. If they cannot do a one day either side of a specific date then its the ferry to Melbourne and a depot there.

Works out to about $168 one way then about $699 from Melbourne to Perth...cheaper than BL can do it from Tas to Perth....I just dont want to spend ten hours vomiting over the side....lol.

Ps Tony... from numerous phone calls and two other quotes I finally found out there are no depots for bikes in Tas....why they cannot keep the things at the car depot was not explained.

Good to talk to and fast in sending a quote..

Quote price was very reasonable
> $580 Mackville to depot in Launceston
> had to supply own insurance and tie downs

VERY BAD in further communication
> called 6 times to see what was happening as bike was NOT picked up on dates promised
----> original pickup dates 06-07/08/2013
----> new promised pickup dates 15-16/08/2013
> recieved only 1 call back from the 6 calls made
> call back never made by Logistics Manager as was promised

waiting to get bike to see how it survives transit

When truck turned up to pick up bike on 16th the operator had NO idea of how to transport a bike. BIG thanks to revhead for not letting the dickhead strap it to a wall or lay it over....
New pick-up dates organised for 22-23/08.

>Was not picked up on 22-23/08 and no contact to tell me what is going on... went into Watkins Removal had office and now waiting to find out what happened and what is going to happen.....

I would NEVER recommend Watkins Removal to transport anything...

NO customer contact
NO reliability
NO service
THEY WILL TAKE YOU CASH WITHIN THE HOUR AND THEN DO NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for that Tony. We had a quote from Watkins but have decided to use Grace...after all the cast and crew of home and away use them...lol.

I managed to find a bike logistics depot I can drop the bike off to in Devonport...I will also check out their trucks...coming over they had a bike specific truck that had tie down points....like long rails that the strap hooks located into and the bike was securely tied down.

No reasons for missing the 22-23/08 truck
new date of 02/09 for pick up

Guess the promise of getting to me before the end of the month was just a lie to quieten me

Picking up from Devonport but will be on a trailer as she will be unregistered and I don;t wanna try to start on battery as it will be extremely low..

Plan to have it on the road by following weekend....

Gen one yes? I would be getting the starter 'idler gear boss'? modded asap with the titanium sleeve. Wonder if the gen 2 slipper clutch would fit....probably not.

Will be spending a shut load on this bike over next year.. Just gotta lay off for a while after all this... sandy is wonderful about it but with the combined costs of bike, transport, insurance, rego, trip to Normanville.. It's kinda added up to "I owe her heaps" LOL
