Intra-State Busa Transporting
#1
Hi Admin gurus,
I was looking over our site and was suprised we didn;t have a dedicated threat for transport companies to move our Busa's around the country when we can't ride them.

be good to know who ppl have used, what they think and links to movers

cheers

Funny you should say that Tony....looks like I will need one soon...I used Bikes Only a QLD mob via Allied pickfords for the move to TAS. They were almost impossible to contact being QLD based and I almost didn't use them due to this. Allied managed to contact them....they had not got in touch with me and the move date was looming. Finally worked out OK and the bike was delivered on the correct day etc...but I will not be using either company again. I ended up doing far too much running around and checking they had the correct dates and addresses when both companies should have been doing that as it was what I was paying them for.

Update on using Watkins Removals for east coast transporting.....

Good to talk to and fast in sending a quote..

Quote price was very reasonable
> $580 Mackville to depot in Launceston
> had to supply own insurance and tie downs

VERY BAD in further communication
> called 6 times to see what was happening as bike was NOT picked up on dates promised
----> original pickup dates 06-07/08/2013
----> new promised pickup dates 15-16/08/2013
> recieved only 1 call back from the 6 calls made
> call back never made by Logistics Manager as was promised

waiting to get bike to see how it survives transit

it kinda works in my favour as I will have to get it registered for insurance reasons as soon as it gets here... as I normally only ride over summer the later I get it the more good weather I can ride it next year..

Tony who have Watkins used?...I am currently dealing with Bike Logistics...their quote was $1087 address pickup only in Launcseton and depot in perth airport precinct. This is also a condition they include... 'whilst you may specify a date for collection your vehicle will be collected on our next available run'....not very good for our situation. I found them to be very quick with the quotes....(two cars as well) but suspect once the money is paid my importance will be down graded to PITA.

Watkins are using their own containers... they do about 2 runs a month up the east coast to Qld.
Not sure if they go west???

My bike is coming down on whats called "groupage", which means it fills an existing container..
I would probably recomend them (if bike turns up in same condition it was picked up in) for anyone not needing a fast service or have it arrive by a particular date!!!
