Camera Mounting Point
#1
If you haven't seen it yet I made a movie of the last ride I did with other members of the AHC ..
It was the first I made and was fun.. the camera was held onto the mirror arm by a mounting clamp I got for Jaycar for $6.95. Only had 1 problem.. the angle of the camera even with spacers (screws) under clamp was uneven... made right hand corners look extreme though LOL

To fix this I made a mounting bar that is attached to front fairing under the mirror bracket..

This is what it look like now

It looks like a good spot to see what your camera is doing. But does it vibrate up there? I found when I mounted mine to the fairing there was too much flex.
The best mount I have seen is Shufu's. He has it mounted inside his mirror, if you didn't know it was there you'd never notice it.

doesn't look to bad from the new mount...

and remember this is a simple digital instant camera with video capability (Samsung ST76).. for the movie it was mainly set at lowest resolution (QVGA), for this test at next one up in resolution (VGA)...

love the idea of being able to change the point of view, it looks pretty stable on the video.

the camera was about $75, the clamp $6.95, the mount made form scrap mateal around house (3mm plate 100x75mm and 20mm pipe about 100 mm long) all up I think a good result for the price LOL

Now I am getting into video making I just made my channel on YouTube so sharing should be better.

Found out that QVGA is ideal for web sharing, VGA for standard TV (a 6 min vid at VGA ended up being about 300 MB)

I got myself a cupple of these grant after I saw yours. Great as they are so small, you can Velcro em anywhere, and take good footage. And so cheap to.
