The top speeds are calculated mathematically from the gear ratio's and final drive.
@10,500rpm
123.4
166.6
211.5
251
284
309.3

You could Flash the ECU limiter to 12,500 like some of us Coolsmiley don't now if top gear would wind out that far but Nerd secondly it wouldn't be real pretty if the motor let go at over 300 kph Scary

I could make my bike lighter by takin the gear leaver off 123.4 is fast enough for me Undecided

My maths must be different to Cotters as by my calculations at 10500RPM and standard 18/43 gearing, OEM tire (610mm effective dia) the Gen 2 speeds would be:

121.064 in first
163.421 in second
207.446 in third
246.266 in fourth
278.633 in fifth
303.435 in sixth

At 11500 RPM (factory redline)

132.594 in first
178.985 in second
227.203 in third
269.720 in fourth
305.159 in fifth
332.334 in sixth

That is all theoretical as please consider that the wheelspin at these speeds can be as high as 10% (partially offset by the tire expansion caused by the centrifugal force)

All good in theory, but in practice as long as your not undergeared, the bike will pull to its hp limit and thats it,
you could gear it one or 2 teeth higher and not change your top speed by much, just take less rpm to do it ,
very few will pull to redline in the top gear as the hp and torque peak are already passed, and if you do your geared too short

and the top speed limiter is just about irrelevant on the gen 1 as i am sure you could go as fast at 10600 geared correctly as you could at 10800

gen 2 with its higher revving motor may make enough power above the top gear limiter to pull a ittle more

real good example of this happened to us at Bonneville in 2011, took Jims mildly modded busa to the salt and ran it at 186 mph quite often with several of us riding , then i put my 750 wheel and tire on, with its 32 t rear sprocket (testing a landspeed specific tire) and ran 181mph, in 4th gear , could not quite pull 5th , thats a big step from the 40 t to the 32 t and it made bugger all difference

quick clip, excuse the very poor audio, iv been testing some of the latest and not so greatest sport cams, this one was the sony actioncam, not impressed at all, but note at around the 2:20min mark i flick back to first and crack it till it stops making power, just shy of looks to be around 135-140 in first, stock gearing

ahhh filmed on a private driveway ofcourse :S lol

hahaha, your right mate!!! sorry about that, the post has been edited with the right clip

p.s i listened to the clip again and i just cant get over how poor the audio quality is on that new camera

ok heres how bad the new motor is ,
1st gear to redline ,106ks
2nd rear to redine 160ks

1st gear is very torque y ,but it has nothing up high ,the bike is running the standard gearing as well,
i think im going to look for a better engine as this thing isnt impressing me

thats odd revhead, the engine being clapped out shouldnt have any effect on speed reached at redline, just the fact if it can reach redline or not,
