Hey members, just a quick intro. Im Stu, not long got off my p's and stepped off a gs500f and onto a 01 busa. The day i got her home and after a good couple hrs perving at all her curves I came inside, reflected on how the day unfolded and how things finally went my way for once, I knew I was meant to have this bike.
So shes a blue silver 01 with 51k's on her, dual rs3's im fairly certain, with harris grips and angel st tyres. Im yet to take off the plastics and look for a tre, and i'm fairly certain the ecu is standard.
Plans in the near future are for a undertail with the smoke led tail light and a rear hugger. Maybe hids with the halos, they look hot!
Ok for the worse bit shes had a stationary lay down, few scuff marks but on a limited budget, a tendency of impulse buying and the choice to wait longer, keep riding the gs or ride home on a busa?....was quite an easy choice to make lol. So do i fix these blemishes or wait till I upgrade to a gen 2??...lol....hmmm
Now any pointers, tips or advice or criticism is both more than welcome and I look forward to meeting and learning heaps as this isn't just my commuter and w/e toy anymore, it's very quickly becoming an obsession lol.

Many thanks in advance, Cheers Stu!

P.S Ive had this bike for 6 weeks and only today, found out i have helmet hooks under my rear seat, nifty, anything else I should know about? lol

Welcome ! ... be sure to go to WSID drags on a wednesday night some time , its a great opportunity to see whats she is capable of without getting locked up and next door at EC it's even more madness to be had on a busa. Check out the busa bash ride thread in december at Tathra. If your gotta busa its the place to enjoy your busa with other like minded enthusiast.

Welcome Stu. Congrats on the Busa and she looks good. What area of NSW are from?

Do as 03sydrd suggested, and check out the Busa Bash thread in the 'Riding Not Talking' section. There is plenty of Busa info on this forum, so enjoy.

G'day Stu....and welcome to the AHC mate!!!

Congrats on ur step-up from the GS to the busa.....you'll already have noticed all the extra cubes are so much more fun to play with, hey!?!

Hope to see you (and maybe a partner?) at the busa bash this year.....it's shaping up to be one of the best ever BB's yet!!!

The only advice I can give you is the usual.....keep a good check on the speedo and your mirrors, coz it's VERY easy to lose points on these beasts!!!

Keep it fun,
bazman :)

Enjoy your new toy. Only advice is - although the power can you get out of trouble quick, it can get you into it faster. Especially once you feel you're getting the hang of it. They love to be ridden hard, but it will accelerate much faster than it will slow down, and corners can come up really fast. Just don't take the easy/lazy/effortless acceleration for granted, or it will turn around and bite you when you least expect it.

They are a great toy, hope it gives you heaps of pleasure!

Welcome aboard Stu,

Just be careful on her mate. I had about 20 years more riding experience than you when I first stepped on my first busa (she was an '01 blue silver too, and they can do little "tricks" when you least expect it. Be careful especially of accellerating in the wet as she will break traction on you when your not ready. Not trying to scare you mate .. just be respectful of her until you get the hang of it. As Wardy said, they GO better than they STOP Lol3
By the way, where are you from ??

Cheers and Enjoy Pi_thumbsup

Hey guys, many thanks on the compliments! She is quick, I cant deny her that...but i have gotten on her with a level head, knowing quite well the bike is ALOT more capable than I am, so I do give my bike the respect she deserves, but in saying that how the hell can anyone keep these under the speed limit??....lol
In time I will venture down the creek as its about a 7 min ride from where i live, might not be anytime soon....but I do have to give it a go.
I wont be at tathra this year but me and the boss lady should be fine to go down next yr. We did the pink ribbon ride last sunday, and she was complaining about her sore bum when we got home, so she needs a few more rides before we can consider a long trip like that.
Wet riding still freaks me out a bit and avoid it if i can, after doin some reading and rearing great reports on my tyres and performing in the rain i did get a little more confident with it, considering doin and advanced rider program, we'll see how that goes.
And I live in Hassall Grove Dale, pretty much back of Mt Druitt...
Cheers, Stu!

Cheers, Stu!

Consider getting sheepskin seat covers. It's amaing the difference they make. Ive got to say the best sheepskins we have had for the Busa or our BMW, came from Kev at VCM Cycle Seats...check him out on the forum here in the vendors section or on the net and if you decide to get some be sure to tell him you are a member of AHC.

BTW Stu and Pete, we are at Rooty Hill and I know there are other Busa owners around the Blacktown/Penrith area.
