slowest busa in the world
#1
hey there ,before i write on this post that in no way shape or form ,what i am going to write is meant to upset the old owner ,or persons who worked on this bike.\
oh if i compare my busa and the donor busa,my bike is an animal ,and the donor busa is a slug,

ok everyone knows i bought dj petes bike,
1, bike started fine after fitting a new battery ,
2, bike struggles to reach 80ks in first gear,
3,bike revs fine ,to bloody loud but.
4, air box stripped out ,?????a company spends millions to design the perfect flow ratio and you think pulling it apart makes more power. ???????????
5, muffler gutted??????
6,throttal body's full of greasy dust ,i me lots.
As being a mechanic ,im dumb founded as to why the dual stage air box was gutted because its done nothing for this bike,as i fitted my air box off my busa on it and it rode to 110ks in 1st and flat spotted
7, all the vacuum hoses blanked off.
this bike has 37k on the clock ,the tyre on the rear is shredded, but the motor tells me it would only be pushing about 60 hp its just that much of a slug?

any info much appreciated

oh and saying gutting the air box helps doesnt help me i need real facts cheers

In the early days there were many "ideas" to improve the 'busa. It seemed everyone had some way to get an extra hp here or there.
Lots of people "had a backyard go"
As time went on many reverted their bikes back.
Sounds like you "got one with the lot" Idiot2

- might have to drag Heidi with the postie to make you feel better . . . just as long as you win of course Embarassed

p.s. my stock '99 still pulls like a teenage schoolboy! Trophy - and I can tell you after this weekend, Tex's '99 and Baz's '99(2 up) does too!

Sounds like the former owner was a tinker I would start with putting everything back to stock at least then you will have a baseline to work from.

Arrrh the air box mod

Cuttin out the cigerette size flap-
Gave a bullshit result-
What a bad joke that was

Suzuki's design srad

Suzuki ram air direct,
It has been around since 89 or earlier

As the bike reached 3000-3500rpm
The flap opened up-

Superchargin air & ramin it down the throttle bodies

As memory serves me, dj did come out on some rides,
His bike went well,

Last time we was out was way back in 2008
On balls plaque money raising ride

I had mine wound up & he was keeping pace
@ $2.00 & up,

Since then, I dont know , maybe a cockhead service
Techy may have tried to modify it & did it wronk

We havn't seen him or I havn't seen him out on
Any rides,,

Maybe it was dumbed down to slow himself down

Because -- we all know just how quick a busa breaks ya licence

Hope this helps

There was a change to a larger capacity processor in either 2002 or 2003, not sure of the compatibility of the two systems, surely the tuning gurus can advise.
