ok pulled the fuel pump out today ,checked it ,i havent got a flow metre, but when i hooked it up to power it,it only pushed the fuel at a dribble,

flow meter is a bucket, just run it in for a min and measure the quantity ,or 30 secs and double the number

needs better than a dribble , think you may have found at least part of your issue
I forgot yours was a 99 on ASF , the pics i will do are for a 01+

ok maj, i split my external pump leaving the pump in the back part of the cover dropped it in a bucket of fuel, connected the battery ,and the flow was about 1.5 feet high out of the bucket all over the floor,

Lol2 I can see that. There's heaps of threads about blocked fuel filters and '99 and the external fuel pumps. Sounds like a blocked filter and / or screen. there are 7 in all(filters and screens). have fun, don't miss any - and just to rub salt in - most can be checked without removing or splitting the pump.

1 on top of each injector.
1 on the side of the fuel pump (possibly/probably the culprit- when new, they had a tendancy to get a copper build up on them, I assume from out of the pump)
a paper filter inside the pump (I eventually chucked this one away)
a screen inside the pump. You will need to grab the plastic with a pair of needle nose plyers - swear lots and yank like all hell to get this out!! (I eventually got the shits with this and completely cut this screen out - was acommon mod on the US site 10 years ago)
- I run a small $5 inline filter on the fuel line instead and have been doing so ever since.

hope this helps and you get to the bottom of this. Pi_thumbsup

the bike has no screens at the injectors, someones been there before, the screed in the tank is history ,i dumped that 6 months ago ,the flow from the pump is good , very air, rated from the outlet at the pump, take into account theres no filter in front of the out let and it was sitting emearsed in 20 litres of petrol

trust me il get it running even if i have to fit an aftermarket drag unit

Maybe i should have been more precise
take the return hose off and measure flow from that into a bucket or other container
your after a x ml or cc/min ,

Does it have any screens at all, you need then... stops fine stuff getting into the injectors and either blocking or jamming them

no there is only the filter in the end of the fuel pump

I'm no mechanic Pete, but does that mean its
100% the coil? If it was an injecter or something
else related to that pot would you get a simar
result? Hope your right mate. If you were closer
I'd lend you mine.

I still think it might be that K6 tail,
Best take it off to be sure :-)

Think a strategically placed ball bearing or marble in the hose does the same job. Think its called "The Marble Mod"

Yeah, Pete the P.A.I.R. clean air crap seems a lot
more noticeable with a full system than with just
cans. My King and Bus haven't been done but its
been removed and blanked off on my 1400 with
It's full Yoshi system.

ok i just bought 9x 2nd hand coil packs from america and the uk ,and it cost me $110,
i bought 1x from a wrecker in sydney for 100 bucks to fix the bus now ,as it will be 2 weeks before i see the other ,am extremely happy with this, so i spent $210, and saved $1090 for 4x brand new ones
and i still have spares just in case another one dies on a ride
